Found this and had to share. National Dragster photographer took the phototgraph at Bristol during one of the All-Star events. Bob Vandegriff had just completed a winning lap before the storm front rolled in. Trying to get that last interview on the big end before all hell broke loose.... JUST as we started the interview, the winds hit.... turning the umbrella inside out. Bob and I both laughed and finished the interview.... THEN the torrential rains hit. Ahhhh Bristol, always a challenge.

Just wanted to take a minute and say thanks To Dave Mohn and the entire NHRA Northeast Division staff for inviting me to Birginia Motorsports Park this weekend for their LODRS race. Enjoyed seeing some old friends, and making some new ones! Thanks Again!

Race update from Virginia Motorsports Park, due to the amount of rain, the cool temps, high humidity and lack of sunshine, today's final rounds of eliminations for the NHRA Northeast Division opening LODRS race have been cancelled. Race has been rescheduled for Saturday May 9th, with Test-N-Tune available on Friday May 8 from 12-6. Sat will offer all racers ONE time run, and then straight into eliminations. Race to be run to it's conclusion on May 9.

For many in the racing world, the mention of fellow announcer Leo Taugher's name means friendship, sportsman racing, and a deep love and understanding of HIS racers in NHRA's Division 3.
Most everyone has known that Leo has been fighting cancer for quite awhile now, and today marks the end of that battle.... Leo has pain no more.
I learned this morning that Leo's battle had come to an end, and couldn't help but smile while reliving some the memories that we shared while traveling the country announcing the NHRA Mello Yellow tour over the years. Long days always ended with a cold adult beverage and a discussion of what HIS racers had done that day.
NHRA, and D3 "The Land of the Winners", truly lost one of their biggest winners today.
RIP Leo, we will all miss you!
