Keizer has embraced the habit shift of repurposing and rehousing items that still have life to give. Keizer has several Buy Nothing groups listed on Facebook that assist in the task of connecting neighbors to each other and free goods to share.

Keizer City Ordinance 2022-851 makes all fireworks a violation under certain conditions:

• Between the hours of 10 P.M. and 10 A.M. the following day, with an exception for December 31st to January 1st & July 4th to July 5th. This provision does not apply to those who have been authorized by a permit from the Oregon State Fire Marshall.

• When the National Weather Service issues a “Red Flag Warning.” A red flag warning means extreme fire danger as a result of conditions such as drought, high temperature, low humidity, high or erratic winds, and dry vegetation and fuel.

• The presumptive fine for a violation under this city ordinance is $400.
