When Olive was re-permitted as an “event venue”. I’m not going to lie, I lost sleep over the process. I went kicking and screaming. I didn’t understand why and I had no desire to make this a venue for partying.

While, at the same time, I bought this gem with little clarity what it would be besides a creative space for me. A place I’d collaborate with others, teach, and maybe rebuild my beauty agency.

This is where that whole, God had other plans part came in. He also knows, I’m an entrepreneur.. throw me a challenge and I’ll turn it into a business when I figure it out. 🤣

And that I did. For the first year I had to learn the market, the use of space, what we wanted it to be and what we didn’t. I had to stretch pennies into a dime and some dimes into dollars.
Because bootstrapping anything ain’t easy let alone navigating a whole lot of other things at the same time.

What to walk away from, what to pursue…. And what made sense.

Time and time again…. This…. This just made sense even when I didn’t understand it.

Last year I partnered with my mom because it was evident this business had a lot of potential if I could clone myself. She became my double. In doing so, we doubled business… together.

I have fully embraced 139 as an event venue now and I see God’s hand in all the ways this place has brought together so many families, friends, and new connections.

Much like the ones we brought in today….

We have ideas that haven’t even scratched the surface of Olive’s potential. While she is a beauty in so many ways.

I’m grateful for all of the amazing women owned businesses that have been a part of this journey and the many more we will continue to connect with.

Thank you to the people that have booked this gem and this dream, that I always dreamed of when it came to owning something like this… but, never in my wildest dreams in the way that it turned out to be. 🩷🙌🏻🫒🕊️🐝
