🌊 Exciting Updates from Red Sands Beach! 🌊

Big things are happening at the tournament site this week! After more than a year of planning, the Red Sands Beach Dredging and Shoreline Restoration Project is almost complete. 🎉

A huge shoutout to Aqua Skiers member JT Sachs who worked with Wood County Economic Development to secure the necessary funds for this project through a grant. The grant was awarded at their annual meeting, and now the hard work is paying off!

Last week, silt fencing was installed, and yesterday, the real digging began. The area around the dock and the point east of the beach has been dredged back to its original depths from the early 1990s. The shoreline in these areas has also been restored and rip-rapped to prevent erosion.

A special thank you to Chad Schooley from the Parks Department for handling all the permitting and coordination, and to Lance Pliml, Jake Hahn, and everyone else at the County who advocated for this project. And another big thank you to Dan and the Bohn Trucking team for their hard work on the ground!

These improvements will make Red Sands Beach a safer, better place for swimmers, boaters, and, of course, to host the world’s largest water ski show tournament every year! 🌟

What an incredible weekend for the 58th Annual Wisconsin State Water Ski Show Championships!

On behalf of the tournament planning committee and the Wisconsin Rapids Aqua Skiers, we want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who made this event a success.
