🚧 We spent most of our time “getting ready” for our grand opening by ironing linens, hanging curtains, washing floors, perfecting recipes…

But the minute our guests walked through the doors .alchemy.ct it wasn’t the decor, or any of my calculated efforts that created the most beautiful night of community.

It was the people ❤️

And an opportunity to connect without pressure to drink alcohol. 🌬️

It felt surreal to have the people who we follow online show up in our place & share the intimacy that a night with mocktails can bring.

🌎 Our next ask is to share our mocktail lounge with local people in Naugatuck & the surrounding cities to build a bright community of people who want to gather & have genuine connection!

Funny #1
As we were leaving an event that the hosts ran out of alcohol, a woman chased us into the elevator and kept asking us what’s in our bags of decor like we were just hiding alcohol from her 😜

Struggle #1
The BEEZ 🐝
Alex really doesn’t like bees and they decided to swarm us for 2 weeks in August and we had to construct elaborate nets to keep them out.

Hardship #1
Owning a business really reveals parts of your life where you struggle with confidence, insecurity and old patterns. So I (Bri) started going to therapy for a specific issue that kept arising in my dealings with people 🤣

How in the world did I…
Own a mobile bar, learn to tow a 40 foot vehicle, and open & run 3 businesses and raise a child?

The simple answer:
Decisions.

You ability to make decisions either quickly or strategically determines your success in business.

The second day I even met Alex, I decided to partner with her on the mobile bar.

When buying the empty trailer I didn’t get much encouragement from family but I took out my credit line from my credit card and bought it.

I realized that you can start as many businesses as you want and tap into new customers and revenue streams. You just have to decide it’s a thing and boom. It’s real.

Doing all this while having a baby also made me quick to make decisions because a taking care of a child is all about immediate needs. I’m finally learned to slow a bit more and be strategic but I’m a quick problem solver (sometimes after a complete cathartic complaining session )

Some of my favorite business quotes are:
-Success loves speed
-The speed at which you succeed is the speed at which you can make decisions
-Don’t regret the time something will take to accomplish because the time will pass anyway

What’s a little known trend you can’t get enough of? We’re loving these wedding floral installations that literally look like they’re growing out of the ground & also can’t refuse a chef station! What’s your fave?

Biggest reason NOT to DIY your bar service: The trips to the grocery and liquor stores because you forgot an ingredient are not the most fun way to begin your wedding weekend. The mental gymnastics of calculating how much orange juice and limes will lead to so much uncertainty. Leave this headache to us: we’ve done it before and can help your event to go super smooth! 🍊
