Let the sunrise of your love end our dark night. Break through our clouded dawn again! Only you can satisfy our hearts, filling us with songs of joy to the end of our days. We've been overwhelmed with grief; come now and overwhelm us with gladness. Replace our years of trouble with decades of delight. Let us see your miracles again, and let the rising generation see the glorious wonders you're famous for. O Lord our God, let your sweet beauty rest upon us and give us favor. Come work with us, and then our works will endure, and give us success in all we do.
Psalm 90:14 - 17 The Passion Translation

May this be an encouragement to you and an anthem for your new year! May we be overwhelmed with gladness in this new year amd may the years of trouble be repleced with decades of delight! This year, may we invite the Lord to come work with us so that our works may endure.

2021 was an amazing year. I learned so much. There were really hard moments and days. And so many really amazing moments and days. I am so grateful for the amazing family that we have surrounding us, for our wonderful friends old and new, and for my incredible husband. I'm so full of hope and excitement for 2022! Happy New Year everyone!! ❤

With the closing of our 2020 season, I have an announcement to make: my husband, Joel, and I have decided that we will not be continuing with the flower business next year.

It’s been an emotional last two weeks. Sharing that news with those who have supported me (and us) in this flower endeavor and those who have played such an integral part in making it all happen. Joy and sadness have filled me as I l’ve put together last bouquets, created the last wedding arrangements, and harvested blooms for the last time. I want to thank each and every person who ever bought flowers from MissAliss - those smiling faces at the farmers markets, those who ordered a custom arrangement, those who trusted me to be their wedding florist, the awesome florists whom I was privileged to work with. With your help, I (and we) we’re able to spread the joy of flowers so far and wide. Thank you!
It was such a beautiful journey. Such a hard journey. I grew a lot. I learned a LOT. I am thankful for what I gained and who I became through it all. I’m thankful to have been given the opportunity to dive fully into something and hone a craft. I am thankful for the privilege it was to have so many beautiful blooms at my disposal, for my enjoyment and the enjoyment of others. Thank you everyone for loving and supporting me through it all.
I cannot end the post without honoring my family, especially my parents, for everything that they did to help me make this business what it was. Thank you for letting me farm flowers on your land, thank you for being by my side, for giving of your time, knowledge, and help when I needed it. Thank you for supporting me in this endeavor. I could not have done it without you. I love you.
I will miss the amazing floral community that I have become a part of - I’ve met and gotten to know so many wonderful people. Flower farmers all over the country - you are champions! What you do is so hard and so amazing. Keep bringing beauty and joy to this world through the beautiful blooms that you grow and the pieces of your lives that you share.
I don’t know when, or if I will jump back on the floral train. But once a flower lover, always a flower lover. 💐So stay tuned!!

Joy and Beauty,
Alissa and Joel Freeman

P.S. The first photo is the very first arrangement that I created as a farmer florist. And the rest are various photos of the last five years of being a farmer florist.

Well, it froze a couple times this week. ❄️The first one came unexpectedly on Monday morning, suddenly ending our season. I was hoping to get one more full week out of our blooms, but Mother Nature answers to now one.
What a season it was. Plenty of ups and downs as every year, but that was amplified by Covid-19. But we made it through and things went really well, considering! We also grew some of the nicest flowers I’ve ever grown - that was super exciting and fun! Thank you to everyone who supported us this year, we couldn’t have done it without you.

💙💛🧡 Throwback to spring and all of its bright, enchanting, new, beauty! This bouquet will always have a special place in my heart. I am delighted every time I see it for it turned out exactly as I had hoped. The colors, the varieties - ahhh my heart sings when looking at it. And it causes me to remember the beautiful day that made my Joel and I man and wife. 🧡💛💙
Do you prefer spring, summer, or fall blooms - which ones make your heart sing the most? I want to know! 👇🏼

We did our last wedding of the season last weekend! 👰🏼❤️It was so fun to create these beautiful pieces with my husband. I want to give a huge shout out to all of the brides and grooms who stuck with it this year! It has been such a difficult year to plan/have a wedding. Thank you for choosing us to be your florists and for caring to source local flowers even in the midst of a pandemic. It’s been an honor to create beautiful arrangements for each one of you!

Update on the farm: we came out to the field Friday morning to find these beauties alive and well! 🌸🌼❤️The dahlias we had covered and they made it through the storm and cold temperatures, just fine. But we ran out of time to cover the zinnias, yet here they are! Some things suffered some damage and will take a little time to bounce back. But it did not get as cold as they had originally predicted. It looks like it barely touched 32 degrees. I am continually amazed at the resilience of plants. We are thankful! Thank you, everyone, for your thoughts, prayers, and support! We will have blooms for a little while longer! 🙏🏼❤️

The forecast told us of rain and freezing weather coming. 🌨🌧❄️Colorado is always throwing us curve balls! 😰So yesterday we celebrated Labor Day by laboring and harvesting our flowers down hard to salvage as much as we could before the frost. We also covered what we could to see if it would survive. But yesterday could’ve been the last day that we harvest our blooms for the 2020 season. It’s sad to see them go at least three weeks early. 😢Enjoy local blooms well you still can! This week: if you live in Greeley you can order a bouquet online at www.croftfamilyfarm.com. You can also find our blooms at the Estes farmers market on Thursday from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm and the Denver, Union Station market from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.

09/03/2020

We have lots of amazing blooms still. The dahlias are in full swing and I’m just loving the colors that we grew this year! ❤️
But things are always changing out here on the farm - there is a chance of frost on Tuesday night. Not yet, Colorado! We still have a month of the season left. Praying it holds off! 🙏🏼
