Sometimes the world is so loud, and the noise of the news, politics, life, it all becomes too much. That's when you'll find me sitting on a beach, drowning out those sounds with the music of crashing waves. Take a moment to think about what you made today, whether it was a silly meme, your ohana, art, or even a stranger. What made you smile today?

It's been a long time since I've shared anything on this page. Since the wildfires, now 11 months ago, I've been fully immersed in maui life and trying to just enjoy every day to the fullest, including limiting time on social media. While I have been doing plenty of events, resort performances, and mermaid meet and greet opportunities, i have preferred to keep them just to our little island community. I don't know when I'll be back consistently, but I want to share some absolutely incredible photos from the photography couple powerhouse that is ! I'm absolutely blown away! These photos show all the beauty of maui, while showcasing the headdress I myself made, and my favorite tail, created by and myself! So many things I love captured in just a few pictures. I'll be sharing more from this shoot in the next week or so!

I've rewrote this caption so many times. I don't know how to put into words just how much this devastation to our island home has impacted its residents.
It's scary to say the least. Currently i have no job and no income. I worked as a professional singer and also as a snorkel guide for mysplash. The incredible places I sang at have either burned up, or have no guests and no income due to no tourism. Being a snorkel guide only works if I have people to guide. It's hard to keep morale up. But I want to be honest in this post.

Even with all this devastation, you've never seen a community come together like Maui. I live in wailuku, away from the main fires, and every time you go to the store here, no one is shopping for themselves. I've seen people spending thousands to donate to fellow residents. I've seen busses upon busses of volunteers, volunteering for 10 hour days to go to the west side and help. I've seen entire communities in kula clearing gulches and working together to stop more flames, I've seen kids comforting each other and talking about what they have lost. I've seen so much more, but can't properly put it into words. Every time volunteers have been asked for, they end up turning people away because the sheer amount of people who want to help. Our island home is unique, and many of the residents are all come from different backgrounds and locations, with widely different histories. Yet, we will all stand as one in this time.

This picture was from the keiki grief relief event by on Sunday. I got to volunteer to be with the kiddos and spread some smiles.
