Back in April, 2024 several barbecue teams from the Desoto County, MS & Memphis TN area gathered meat, rubs, sauces, etc to send to our US Troops serving in the Middle East. Today, the Tennessee Air Guard presented us with flags that flew over the base while they used these supplies. Thank you, Boars Night Out Championship BBQ, Sweet Swine O' Mine Smoker and Grill Superstore, Hernando VFW Post And Auxiliary 7531, How To BBQ Right, Heath Riles BBQ, Thacker Mountain BBQ Supply, and everyone else that helped give these soldiers a “taste of home” while they protected our freedom to enjoy our hobby. It was very humbling and we know that our contribution was significantly small compared to their sacrifices.

Instant Pot Brisket Ragu with pappardelle noodles. Made with love and Hometown Barbeque leftover brisket!

Sauté 1 chopped yellow onion in the instant pot 5 minutes. Add 7 sliced garlic cloves, 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes and saute for another minute. Add 2 Tbsp tomato paste and saute until darkened. Deglaze pot with 1/3 cup dry red wine. Add one 28-ounce can crushed tomatoes, 5 sprigs thyme, 1 bay leaf, and 1 Tbsp Neapolitan Herb balsamic vinegar. Add 3-ish cups of leftover brisket. Put lid on and set to “Meat/Stew” function. When done, release steam and serve over egg noodles. Add Parmesan cheese, chives and parsley to serve.
