What sets Kristin apart from other character entertainment options?
- Parties with Princess Kristin is a sole proprietor in Portland, OR. When you hire Kristin, every dollar goes toward supporting a small, local business, and not a corporation! As such, overhead costs are low, so Kristin can provide a high quality service at an affordable rate.
- Your child is being entertained by someone who is
not merely "pretty good with kids" - Kristin is a certified educator in both Washington and Oregon! She earned her MA in Teaching in 2011, and has since served as a full-time teacher at both the elementary and high school levels.
- You are hiring a performer who not only LOOKS like your favorite character, but who can also sing, dance, and act just like them! Kristin has over 20 years of vocal training and performance experience. She has performed in many various musical and theater productions throughout Portland, many of which are specifically for children's audiences. She also currently serves as a Teaching Artist for Northwest Children's Theater.
- Attention to detail is crucial to keeping the "magic" of every character, and a performer's costume is no exception. An accomplished seamstress, Kristin makes all of her own costumes, and strives for the highest quality to ensure true accuracy - no $25 party store Halloween costumes here! In addition, Kristin does not need to wear a wig for any of the blonde characters (though Rapunzel does require some extensions for obvious reasons :). This is a fantastic advantage that Kristin has over many performers, whose use of a wig can often take away from the image of the "real" princess.
- You are getting a performer with authentic training - Kristin has taken several professional development courses with The Walt Disney Company, and is a graduate of the Disney Institute. She has studied the classic Disney films extensively, and is an aficionado when it comes to princesses in particular.*
*Kristin Alarcon/Parties with Princess Kristin does not claim to be affiliated with or endorsed by any theme park or company. My princess characters are based on stories and fairy tales that have been told for centuries, and therefore are out of copyright and in the public domain. I have modeled my characters after some of the most well-known retellings and renditions of these fairytales, and any resemblance you may see is simply incidental. I am nothing short of reverent of the brand/company that has produced these popular versions, and it is not my intention to violate any copyright laws.
