On Saturday, OF COURSE, it poured AS SOON as it was time for our shoot. 🙃 After doing our best to avoid getting wet the first half, we decided to embrace the rain. 🥰 And then... it stopped raining five minutes later. 🤣 This family got completely soaked, and I learned a ton about shooting portraits in the rain. I have many new ideas for if this ever happens in the future. ❤️

PHOTOGRAPHERS, tell me your relatable stories!!

Today I made two rookie mistakes 🫠

I went out to shoot photos with Vanessa, my newest photo apprentice. I ran out of the house and only brought one memory card and one battery with me to go shoot. It wasn't a job, just a teaching session. She learned how awesome fixed lenses are... and also learned why you always bring extra batteries and memory cards... Not only did my battery die before we were done, but the memory card corrupted and all the photos we took are gone forever. 🥴 We took so many good photos. 😫

At least she didn't have to learn this lesson the hard way at a wedding, or ANY paid session for that matter. We did take a couple cute photos on our phones and had a lot of fun 🙃

First photo is my favorite she took of me, second is my favorite I took of her. Not as good as those we shot with my 85mm, but cute nonetheless. Very excited to be working with her. 🥰
