Today I worked my last official wedding!
What an incredible day with a beautiful bride and groom, the best vendors and perfect weather!
Scott and Julie take such pride in their resort and work hard to please their guests. They are dream hosts!
Barbe and her team created delicious food and desserts. Paul David did a great job on sound.
Florals from Marshall's were perfect.
Drozian photography were a blast to spend the day with.
Today was the perfect ending to my wedding planning career!

Paella and tapas party, yes please!
This weekend the EDH team created some delightful bites for a 50th birthday party. We built a savory charcuterie table, passed traditional tapas and made a huge pan of paella for 80 satisfied guests!

Tsasdi resort in Lake head was the perfect destination for this over night company holiday party.
The owners, Scott and Julie were incredibly gracious and accommodating hosts. Their resort is fun and close to home.
My team provided the shopping for welcome bags, and employee gifts. We planned, decorated and catered dinner, dessert and brunch.
We created a well crafted scavenger hunt with a nice cash prize so the guests could explore the grounds of the resort, upon arrival. It was fun to watch as couples ran around repeating clues aloud to one another, in search of the baggie of cash!
Netsound's Jon Thompson kept us dancing all night!
This annual party is a favorite for our team!

My lovely daughter was married to her best friend and I was honored to plan the celebration.

The wedding was an intimate gathering in with the dining tables tucked in a grove of pine trees. We strung market lights above the tables and dance floor for a perfect glow as the sun set.
We had touches of blush, navy, gold and glass with soft elements of preserved moss, dahlias and roses.
The early October storm brought a chill to the air, so we provided pashminas for all the ladies to stay warm.

I was able to relax and truly enjoy the beautiful celebration because I fully trusted my dear friends to handle the ex*****on of the event.
Lauren Karlowsky was a rock star planner and handled every little crisis with the weather and decor.
Barbe Cervantes created delightful food that everyone raved about.
Katie Luther, Kara Stewart and Jaret Brantley were so fun to work with and made picture taking amazing and relaxing.
Sarah Bos and Pamme Stanberrry created lush arrangements and floral.
Paul David set the tone with the perfect music throughout the party.
It was incredibly special to have vendors that are dear friends be such an integral part of this day.

This past weekend my beautiful daughter and the love of her life were married at a private residence in the foothills of Shasta county. The wedding was one of the most enjoyable parties I've planned, and my staff executed it so well. I'm excited to write a full post when the professional images arrive.

This is a good article on tipping. It may seem excessive, but the event industry is all about service. Showing appreciation for the staff you hire means more than you know.

Oh, what a party it was!
The Event Design by Heidi team worked along side Chad Bushnell, Jason Odell of Odell Craft and Taste and See Creamery to create a laid back Spring BBQ. We provided the event planning, appetizers and side dishes.
Rustic Charm Wedding & Event Rentals provided the rentals.
Izzy and Dustyn Kellar created gorgeous henna art on the ladies.

Event Design by Heidi is a full service Event Planning Company. Last night we executed a fun company party at Gover Ranch in their event barn. We planned the event, catered the dinner and dessert and designed the decor. We created a boho chic feel with great colors, textures and metallics. As the guests arrived, they were given a cello bag of money to play Left, Right, Center. Light up corn hole, giant Jenga and light up balls were in the game area and provided competition and fun all evening. I shopped for staff gifts and had them on display by the games so guests could view the selection before the name drawing-gift selection began. The lounge was a great place to relax and enjoy the appetizers and cocktails and watch the destruction of the Jenga tower. Tammy Coleman with Rustic Charm has amazing furniture that fit our theme perfectly. She also provided the dining tables, and other rentals. Benson with Top Shelf Beverage handled the bar with perfection. Jon Thompson with Net Sound provided the DJ service, Photo booth and great uplighting. We brought in Izzy Kellar, a local henna artist to create beautiful designs on the ladie's hands. The dining tables were fun and classy with pops of color and gold accents. We arranged simple florals with freesia and wispy ferns. Nancy Matthews with Chocolat de Nanette provided delicious truffles for each guests' place setting. Each of the ladies had a silk Pashmina draped on the back of her chair, to wrap up if needed. It was a beautiful night with incredible staff Lauren Karlowsky and Lauren Marker and Dustyn Kellar, it couldn't have been done with out you!

I recently planned and catered a Gentleman's Scotch and cigar dinner party. I served a delicious 'men's meal' to accompany the Glengoyne 21 year Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky Sherry cask. I showed a video on 'chewing' whisky, and the guys enjoyed learning how to truly taste the distilate. I offered eye droppers and distilled water, so they could open up the Scotch. Everyone was given a hardwood toothpick infused with single malt Scotch and a 2001 Gurkha Estate Select Vintage Reserve cigar.
After dinner, the patio was open for hours of poker playing and dice gaming, followed with snacks and dessert. Unanimously satisfied guests!

Another busy weekend! Yesterday was filled with a beautiful wedding reception in Palo Cedro. Barbe Kratofil- Cervantes with BC Catering made the best food, Jon Thompson, with Net Sound created the perfect setting with lighting and photo booth. Rustic Charm Wedding & Event Rentals provided beautiful furniture and decor. Snow's Party Rentals provided gorgeous linens.
The Chad Bushnell band entertained the crowd.

Today was followed with an early wake up with a gorgeous sunrise and prepping and delivery of a Mexican brunch. Now, it's time for a nap.

Tonight, the dynamic duo (Event Design by Heidi & BC Catering) worked a beautiful, intimate back yard wedding together. The weather was perfect, the food was delicious, the wedding and reception flowed beautifully. But, the best part of the night was the palpable love and care the family members had for one another. It is rare to experience such tenderness, and we were all blessed richly because of it.

I have been great pals with this gorgeous woman for over 16 years. We have been on adventures together, developed recipes together, thrown dinner parties together and raised our baby girls together.
Now, I am honored to help her on some of her catered events as a staff coordinator. BC Catering is amazing, unique and delicious.
