OPERATION BLUE CHRISTMAS
The Kingston Municipal Police Department, Forty-Fort Police Department, the Kingston/Forty-Fort Fire Department, along with area businesses and donors, have partnered together since 2020 to help deserving families that have faced many unfortunate hardships throughout the years.
In 2020, we assisted the Benjamin Family. In 2013, Madison Benjamin passed away at the age of four, due to Nemaline Myopathy. Since 2013, Madison’s family has put together a yearly toy drive in Madison’s honor, titled, “Maddy’s Gift.” Each year, Madison’s family collects hundreds of toys that are donated, and delivered to Geisinger Children’s Hospital, in Danville, Pennsylvania, which are then delivered to pediatric patients for Christmas. In addition to their daughter that passed away, the Benjamin’s also have a son, Joe, who also suffers from Nemaline Myopathy.
With the assistance of personal donors, as well as businesses near and far, the Kingston Municipal Police Department has been able to provide Christmas presents to over twenty deserving children between 2020-2023.
Each year, this program has grown tremendously, and we only hope to be able to help more deserving children this holiday season.
The mission of Operation Blue Christmas is to build a stronger bond between the Officers of the Kingston Municipal Police Department and the community we serve. Operation Blue Christmas focuses on giving to those families who are in dire need, due to a child or immediate family member with a serious illness, or those that have faced many hardships throughout the years.
This year, in addition to Maddy’s Gift, we would like to help deserving families within the Kingston and Pringle Boroughs, or Forty-Fort Borough, who may be in need this holiday season. If you or your business would like to donate to Operation Blue Christmas, please send an email to [email protected]
Additionally, if you would like to nominate a family for this year’s Operation Blue Christmas, please send an email to [email protected], with the nominee’s name, contact number, address, and reason(s) for the nomination.
All nominees will be reviewed by the Kingston Municipal Police Department.
