The Kingston Artist Soapbox Derby, now celebrating 27 years, is a parade of non-motorized kinetic sculptures capable of rolling down lower Broadway in Kingston, NY. This year's derby was truly a monumental event. There were 33 entries despite rain in the forecast. The turnout was fantastic! We have to give a shout-out to our sponsors, without whom this event would not have happened. Call for entries for poster artwork for the 2024 Kingston Artist Soapbox Derby
Calling all visual artists in the Kingston area to design the 2024 Kingston Artist Soap Box Derby Poster. Every year for the past 28 years an artist was chosen from the community to create the poster for that year’s derby. The winner will be awarded $500, credit on the poster, a featured profile on the derby website, and the most amazing exposure. The finalists and the winner will have their work featured in a gallery at a special event supporting the Derby!
Guidelines
The artwork should reflect the fun family artistic event that the Kingston Artist Soap Box Derby has become over the years. It should be eye-catching with the info easy to read. Inspiration can be drawn from past derby posters.
This year’s poster should have the following information either incorporated into the design or in the border. Room should also be left at the bottom for our sponsor logos.
29th Annual Kingston Artist Soapbox Derby – 2024
Sunday August 18th – Race starts at 1:00pm
Kingston, NY – Lower Broadway

• Submission must showcase art for the following sizes: Poster (11”x17” – full color) With possible Rack card (4”x6” – full color)
• Multiple submissions are allowed
• The Kingston Artist Soap Box Derby will own the rights to the selected artwork.
How to Submit Your Entry
Artwork should be delivered digitally by emailing it to [email protected]
Timeline
• Submissions Due Monday, April 1st
• Judging Complete and winner announced by Monday April 8th
