2024 TRAINING JOURNAL #3

Well it's been a month since Nationals on August 8th, and after decompressing, it's time for me to resume training again for Nationals in 2024 (at the Rock Hill Velodrome).

I'll be making key adjustments to compensate for the distractions I experienced that impacted my performance: scheduling awareness, proper sprint warmup, mental focus and race tactics.

My annual Cardiology Exam with DUKE Dr. Howard Rockman went very well. He advised me to "Continue my exercise and healthy lifestyle". He is without question the best Doctor I've ever had!

In appreciation, I presented him with an inscribed 8x10 B/W photo (see attached prototype). He was genuinely excited for the gift and my accomplishment that few older patients are fortunate enough to experience.

My recovery process since 2020 has been a team effort of a handful of healthcare providers. I intend to recognize each with a similar token of my appreciation.

My exam blood test results just posted to MyChart were normal, but I may add an Iron Supplement to my daily drug regimen; otherwise, stay the course.

Stay tuned for periodic updates as I once again prepare to race in 2024.
