— Choose the time of year you want to get married. Our high seasons for weddings are Spring/Fall. When do you want to get married? What do you want the weather to be like? Costs can significantly vary based on time of year for venues, guest accommodations, and venue availability. Want to know the tea about the best time of year to get married here? Hire a wedding planner!
— Put together a solid expected guest list. You need to know this to develop a realistic budget and begin venue sourcing. Want actual, realistic market numbers for the outer banks and ways to “wow” for less? Hire a wedding planner!
— Start venue sourcing. Look into venues across the island or in specific towns. There’s hundreds of special event homes & venues, so use your guest count as a guide to narrow it down. If it can’t fit your guest count it’s no good! Remember, your venue is the foundation of legitimately everything. Want a professional to narrow down your search in literally seconds? Someone who has worked hundreds of weddings in these places you’re seeing on google? Hire a wedding planner!
— Choose your date. Why do this later you ask? Because it’s likely you’ll need to be flexible with your date in order to get the perfect venue and vendors. Don’t pigeon hole yourself by going on date alone first. We do weddings every day of the week, even more commonly or Fridays than Saturdays. Get out of your head on this one, people are going to come even if it’s not on the weekend! Want help planning out your entire wedding week so your rehearsal dinner, wedding, and rest day don’t interfere with check-in and check-out days? Hire a wedding planner!
— Start booking your priority vendors. These are the must haves. Want to ensure who you think you want
