Alrighty - while im waiting on the boning to be finished for the bodice, I need preferences and opinions! I'm getting ready to work on the skirt for this mermaid and I would love to know your preference on the waistband construction. There are two options and I want to hear which you'd prefer in your costume. Keep in mind, both options will be adjustable to fit a variety of sizes.

Like or love this post (or comment) the option which corresponds to your favorite

❤️ OPTION 1: A waistband with elastic and a jawstring tie covered by hook and eye (same construction and my previous RTS gown)

👍 OPTION 2: heavy duty snaps or bar hooks every inch or so on the waistband with no elastic

Finished one of the bodices today! This is the pattern of the dress that I will be listing, just with the more defined fabric in the last photo. I've included some measurements of my mannequin for those interested. At this time I will have 1, possibly 2 of these as a ready to ship by the end of the month.

It's been a loooong time since I've posted here... and I'm sorry to everyone who's been left in limbo 🫣

After some huge life changes and moving cross country last year I finally dug my sewing stuff out of storage and started projects I've been wanting to finish for years.

Coming soon... 1-2 custom dyed teal mermaid gowns! This photo is just the fashion fabric layer, so the neckline will change to be more defined and serger edges won't show, but just LOOK at this fabric.

This particular gown will be more expensive than my previous pieces due to the fabric selections being quite a bit more and the process of having to hand dye this to a perfect match. It will also be slightly smaller in the 2-6 size range. I'll add a video in the comments as well.

Keep an eye out and I'll post updates along the way!

Just a reminder - I only do ready to ship due to my crazy schedule, so I can't do any custom commissions at this time.

First person to comment "SOLD" as shown on my screen will have first opportunity to buy. Once sold, you will have 24 hours to pay the invoice before the gown moves on to the next person in line.

Shipping not included in the $700 USD price. Willing to post internationally, but it may be pricy with shipping increases and insurance.

Hi all! Based on the feedback, it looks like those interested in this particular dress in this sizing would prefer a first come, first serve sale tonight. For the smaller gown I plan on making in the coming months, it looks like the majority wanting the smaller size preferred the random draw method. I'll definitely keep that in mind when I post the next one!

I will list the gown at 7:00pm CST tonight and whoever the first comment is (as shown on my screen) will have the first chance to buy! If that person fails to pay within 24 hours, it will move on to the next person from there!

Just a reminder that shipping is not included. I'm happy to post internationally, but do keep in mind that it may be expensive, especially with insurance added in.

Tomorrow's gown will go up for sale at 7:00pm CST. Price of this gown is $700 USD - shipping not included.

I had originally planned on making this a first come, first serve with the first comment to show on my screen getting the gown with payment required within 24 hours. However, after some thought, I wanted to ask you all for your preferred method of sale.

Which of the following methods would you prefer as a buyer?

This mermaid gown will best fit a US size 6-10.

I've included a few quick measurements of what my mannequin is at currently from another project, but I'll be posting more photos later on this week of the details as well as a few photos of what it looks like on a real person.

The details:
🤍 Fully lined, spiral steel b***d bodice
🤍 Large, built in modesty panel
🤍 Skirt waistband adjustabe up to 34"
🤍 Full, 4 layer skirt perfect for twirling
🤍 Mesh sleeves included but not pictured here

After what seems like ages waiting for my mermaid skirt fabric, my serger being in the shop, and a wrong order thrown in, I FINALLY received the call that my serger is ready! My plan is to finish her up this weekend and post her for sale by the end of the month! Once she is finished I'll be posting all sorts of photos with measurements, details, close ups, and a date for listing!

I so appreciate your patience! Unfortunately many supplies and fabrics are out of stock, delayed, or backordered with no arrival date estimate or heads up. That paired with labor and shipping issues has been causing things to take a while.

Please excuse the purple scrap ribbon, but the bodice for my RTS is done! Just add a broach and she's ready for all of your parties and events. All I need to do is add the mesh sleeves!

My fabric for the skirt portion of this gown has been back ordered for over two months. The estimated date it will be in is the 17th, so hopefully this mermaid will be ready to go shortly after then!

Guess what's in the works! In a few weeks I'll have a ready to ship Mermaid gown! This particular gown will be different from the one already featured on my page, since it will be more parks accurate in the bodice shape and fabric choices.

I've been recovering from surgery, so I'm in no rush to push myself, but keep your eyes peeled!
