I will not be as boisterous as Dren was last year, but sakes, we were excited to roll last year.
And we're pretty darn excited this year too.
SuMO VII, believe it or not. What Mitch Alday started in southwest Georgia back in 2015 as the Bainbridge Summer Mix-up Open is in its seventh revival, now hosted at my place, the Meen Center at Tusculum University in Greeneville, TN for a second year in a row.
We've got the rooms, we've got the sets (Prison Bowl XIV for academic on Saturday, ACRONYM 15 for trash on Sunday), we've got the enthusiasm. All we need now is you.
Sometime in April we'll make the official announcement and throw the doors open for registration. We've got our pages set up on HSQuizbowl for SuMO VII proper on Saturday and SuMO Trash on Sunday; we'll update those as events warrant and matters resolve.
And I'm firing this at everybody who we had email from last year, knowing full well some of you are every bit as interested in staffing as you are in playing. We need you to save the date too; quizbowl doesn't work without you.
(Sadly, there's no baseball in town on Saturday night this year, so we'll have to think of some other small-town hijinks to get up to.)
Forward this along to anybody you know who might be interested. Y'all come. We'll be so glad to have you.
Feel free to email me or [email protected] with any questions.
Chuck [for Dren, on behalf of East Tennessee Quizbowl]
