Three Reasons to Hire a Magician For Your Small Gathering

1) Cell phones, of course -- Cell phones are bright, colorful, and designed to hold your attention as long and deeply as possible. We are supposed to be spending time with friends and family, but we often spend that time hunched over, tapping on our touch screens. Let's move past this. It's time to look up and see what's around us. A magic show is an excellent choice of entertainment for an event where you want everyone to pay attention, make eye contact, and have a memorable time together.

2) The offering of conversation, and non-conversation -- A magician gives everyone something to talk about. Your guests will be gathered together to not only witness the impossible, but to create a new memory that they can discuss together. The act of watching magic can be fun even for people who don't "like" magic -- because they get to speculate and theorize with each other, and engage in a shared conversation.

A magician also gives everyone an opportunity NOT to talk -- bit of time when the pressure falls away and they can take a break from performing socially themselves. Guests will enjoy moments of quiet awe and that feeling of connecting to something bigger than their individual self, as they witness something beyond the ordinary -- usually right before someone yells, "No! How did he do that?!

3) Close-up magic is powerful -- Our society is full of new stuff: noisy stuff, bright stuff, disposable and superficial stuff. Wouldn't it be nice to focus on something with a rich history? Something that's been around for thousands of years and is still loved and enjoyed? I believe that one of the most transformative forms of entertainment is close-up magic, which takes place in the client's own environment, with his or her own feelings and perceptions, and even in their own hands.

I recently learned that 50% of people have never seen a magician performing up-close and live -- which means that MAGIC is a brand new experience for half of your guests!

When you realize that your guests may be seeing magic in-person for the very first time, you realize how much of an impact you can have with your event.
