Little surprises after letting go/ pivoting DO exist! I planted these “firework” dahlias (appropriately named!) from seed a year and a half ago. I gave up on dahlias this year since so many didn’t do well during the 2021 season. I even dug up most of the tubers when I planted daffodils in their place last fall. But look at this beauty! I missed a couple tubers and the plant survived the winter (definitely a surprise there).

It’s such a thrill finding new things in the garden. And even more of a thrill to share these treasures with you!

New this year: Frosted Explosion fancy grass! Since weeds are common around here 🙃 I had to pay extra care to remember what I planted and where so I didn’t pull the fancy grass before I could distinguish it from other grasses. It’s such a thrill to grow something new. I love it! Do you?

I’ve got two boys who are so alike- and so different! My sunflowers here reminded me of them. They can’t stand being apart, yet mess with each other constantly. Their personalities are so different, yet complement the other.

Grow on little ones! It’s a joy and pleasure to watch you grow.

I stole a quick few moments in my front garden between dinner and a baseball game to cut these beauties! I’m looking forward to using these flowers after they’ve been dried to make boutonnières, corsages and arrangements!

My first rose!

Out of the 6 rose bushes I planted in March, 1 is doing great! (🤫 1 is completely dead) and the other 4 are on the struggle bus. So I am really celebrating this beauty right here! And I’m also getting nerdy trying to save the other 4 bushes from an untimely demise. 😬

Droplets of rain on delicate daffodils- the fresh smell ushers in peace and calm. Ok ok it also helps that the kids were inside so there actually was peace and calm while I was picking these. ☺️

My first ever roses arrived last week! What I thought would take me an afternoon stretched into 3 days… 😬

These bare-root plants need a hole 18” wide x 18” deep. Which doesn’t sound like a lot, but it took about an hour (at least!) to dig one hole and I needed 6. A special thanks to my husband who gave up a Saturday to dig and dig and dig. Bring on the !

Happy Fall! 😍 A friend who was far away out-of-state wanted to send encouragement to a doctor here in Knoxville after enduring several hard weeks of bearing bad news to families. It was an honor for me to pull together this bouquet to leave on the doctor’s doorstep as a little pick-me-up.

There’s a smile in there, somewhere! It’s always fun sharing flowers- especially for a birthday delivery to a special 80 yr old friend of ours. My buddy does a fantastic job keeping the flowers safe in the backseat on our short delivery drop-offs!

Send me a DM to place a custom birthday bouquet order for your own special someone!

This boho bridal bouquet was so much fun to make. Seeds for some of these flowers were started 5 months ago and cut a day before arranging to make sure the bride got the freshest blooms for a hot, southern, outdoor wedding (in July)! Each flower was grown locally here in Knoxville. 🎉

School’s out for summer!! My husband is a high school teacher and let me tell you- this year has felt like two. I am so proud of how much heart and perseverance he and his fellow co-workers have put into this crazy year. These little bouquets went to 4 other teachers in his department as a way to say “hurrah! Good job!” Giving encouragement through flowers is one of my favorite things to do.

This peony smells AMAZING! So soft and pillowy- a perfect compliment to a bright, cheerful, spring day.
