This little dream started in college. The only thing that makes me laugh is telling one of my professors in my etiquette class that I would have āpeopleā to set the silverware and do āthat stuff.ā Wedding planning may look glamorous on the internet, but the truth is ā itās packing your car to the very top, unpacking like a moving company, cleaning the trash up when thereās not āvenue peopleā to do it, sweating behind the scenes, a million calls with vendors (that basically become family because you talk to them so much š), etc.
Maybe there IS a glamorous side though ā seeing all your hard work in professional photos, meeting the BEST Brides, Grooms and families who become family, that first time the couple walks into their reception (my favorite part ever), parents with tears in their eyes, helping fluff the bottom of a wedding dress and reminding the Bride to not be stressed and ālive in the moment, have fun,ā watching families actually enjoy themselves because I have a crew running around behind the scenes, and so much more. This ājobā and little college dream has been so rewarding so far. And not to toot my own horn ā but I would do some stupid stuff before I let a wedding day go bad (like spend hundreds of my own dollars to fix something š¤£). So I do hope at the end of the day ā when previous Brides recommend me- they can say with confidence āthe BL team has got ya!ā
Iām scared to thank people on here because eeekā Iām going to leave someone out. I work with different/ wonderful vendors all the time ā but a few of my āstapleā people have to be namedā only because I work with them so often!
Every wedding starts with me and my laptop and a sketch pad, BUT āwedding weekendā is a TEAM.
