On January 27, Consul-General Watanabe paid a courtesy call on Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs at the Knoxville City-County Building. Consul-General Watanabe thanked the County for its support of Japanese businesses and cultural events in Knox County, and requested continued support for the safety of Japanese residents and development of Japanese businesses in the area.



Prior to meeting with Mayor Jacobs, Consul-General Watanabe toured some of Knoxville's landmarks, including the Blount Mansion, the birthplace of the State of Tennessee, and the World's Fair Park, the site of the 1982 Knoxville World's Fair in which Japan also participated. Consul-General Watanabe also visited “Muroran Drive,” named after Muroran, a sister city of Knoxville. Knoxville and Muroran became sister cities in 1991.

Dogwood Home Garden show💐👌 Asian Culture Center of TN invited a Japanese Flower arrangement teacher, Azusa. She made the beautiful Ikebana.

First international Festival. Students enjoyed making Sumo origami and count 10 in Japanese! We also had a Japanese harp and shamisen concert! 🩷㊗️

Japanese Culture & Style Green tea ceremony at that University of Tennessee interior architecture department professor David Matthews invited us to perform Japanese green tea ceremony for the Student who is going to visit Japan this summer enjoyed the tea ceremony and they made their own green tea.
