Top Duties and Qualifications
A Caterer helps the Lead Caterer to prepare food and keep the kitchen clean. Their duties include preparing meal ingredients, setting dining tables and ensuring that guests have a quality dining experience.
Caterer duties and responsibilities
Caterers help with all activities related to event catering. Their key duties and responsibilities can include:
~Assisting with basic food preparation activities, including washing, peeling and cutting vegetables
~Cleaning and sanitizing all tableware and chafing dishes before catering events
~Setting up dining areas (as necessary) by arranging chairs, tables, banners and tents, according to the Lead Caterer or Catering Director's instructions
~Accompany Lead Caterer to event location as needed
~Loading and unloading food, tableware and catering supplies on and off of catering vehicles
~Ensuring there is no shortage of supplies by alerting Kitchen Manager or Catering Director of low inventory items
~Answering guests’ questions and relaying to Lead Caterer and/or Catering Director complaints related to catering services during an event
~Cleaning Catering Kitchen and washing/sanitizing all items taken to event upon return to Catering Kitchen
~All other duties as directed by Lead Caterer, Kitchen Manager, or Catering Director
Hours and days worked by the Caterer will be determined by the demands of the catering schedule and date/time of booked catering events.
Pay rate for the Caterer is hourly and based on experience.
