Established in October 2014, the Center for Mallet Percussion Research is a collection of information documenting the careers of several of the finest mallet percussion artists from the early to mid-twentieth century as well as a diverse collection of rare mallet percussion instruments gathered for the purpose of creating a legacy collection for future generations of mallet percussion researchers. Didn’t get enough Marimba on Monday night? Come out to final concert of the year featuring our own Professor of Percussion, Dr. Andy Thierauf !

Andy Thierauf performs works for solo percussion including Jacob Druckman's Reflections on the Nature of Water, newly commissioned Postcard Pieces by Philadelphia composers, and his own electroacoustic work.

Join us on December 5th at 6:30 PM in the Well-Rapp CMPR for a vibrant evening of solo percussion, featuring Dr. Andy Thierauf, KU's percussion professor. The program includes Jacob Druckman's Reflections on the Nature of Water, newly commissioned Postcard Pieces by Philadelphia composers, and Dr. Thierauf’s own electroacoustic work.
