STOP and smell your flowers!
Did you know that the tradition of brides carrying a bouquet of flowers began in Roman times to symbolize fertility and ward off evils spirits?!?? By the Middle Ages, personal hygiene was so unpleasant it a bouquet was used to mask odors.
Fortunately, in modern times we just love how they look and smell! This bouquet by contains some exotic and home grown blooms that smell amazing and will capture your attention! Stunning isn’t it? And this color palette of this rich pinky mauve and hints of brown and black. So gorgeous you just want to spin it around and look at it all day!

The velvet linen with subtle sequin embroidery was chosen for J&L’s sweetheart table to give them a luxe experience as they sat together for the first time as a married couple enjoying their carefully selected dinner menu under the arch of twigs, vines and fairy lights. The candles in gold hurricanes added an intimate glow to the stunning holiday bouquet created with hyperion berries in white, rich anemones, wax flowers and gorgeous lavender roses. There’s more in there, but Stephanie will have to fill us in, as she is the expert. Which is why I guided them to her. I knew they would appreciate her attention to detail and allow her to create something with texture and opulence…and truly something just for Jina based on conversations we had together. jina had a creative vision and we matched her with the artist who listened and executed.

What this photo doesn’t tell you is that I was actually able to rally after an extremely fun wedding with a really sweet couple…and that never happens! After 14 hours of prep and set up, running around in the chilly fall air, setting up a room for 164 awesome Italian guests who KNOW how to party, tearing down the ceremony area and then repurposing decor at the reception, watching the bride get stuck on a zip line (will post later with professional photos!), and then breakdown and pack up two trucks! I was able to do this because I had two great team members helping, drank lots of water, and took two Advil midway through the night, and two more upon arriving home!

Tracey and Taro’s wedding day at the was a day full of thoughtful surprises from the moment they said “I do”! He serenaded her, they had loads of entertainment for their guest from cotton candy champagne as they got off their shuttle bus to a fun photo booth to cowboy hats on the dance floor! They then sent them into the night with their own little spruce tree to plant in their yard to remember this day! Mine is growing strong despite an overzealous lawn mower incident. But I never walk by it without thinking of them.
My point is…thoughtfulness is never wasted. When I hear my clients talk about how they want their guests to feel, I know they are focused on the important things.

A sneak peek of what’s to come with our styled shoot today at ! took my design to the next level and I know took far better photos than I. So stick around to see what we created at OHGC’s new addition to their Carriage House venue. We brought our newly discovered linen vendor from Charleston, SC! If I can’t live there yet, at least I can show my clients how easy it is to get gorgeous linens that are so soft, gorgeous and full of texture and great patterns!

Each guest needs 3+ drinks, 4-5 appetizers, dinner, a chair for the ceremony AND the reception, a place at a table with a linen on it, a pretty centerpiece to enjoy, a napkin, some candles, use of the bathroom, building, tent and dance floor, shuttles, at least 4 pieces of flatware, about 4 glasses, a piece of cake or some desserts, some champagne (of course!).
The biggest impact on your wedding budget is the number of guests you invite.
Period.
However…your photographer, band, DJ, live painter, soloist, videographer prices are not really affected by the number of guests, only the hours they spend on your wedding on the day, as well as before and after with prep work, editing, rehearsing, etc.
So when you add people and extra time you exponentially increase your costs.
And if you need to work within a tighter budget, shorten your day (average is 5.5 hours including ceremony) and your guest list.

🍾Champagne Fun Facts:
-You SHOULD get five glasses out a bottle of champagne.
-A Champagne cork can reach 24.8 miles/hour when popped. Point it away from you!
-Drinking champagne every week can prevent memory loss! Wooohoo!
-You can sabrage a bottle of champagne with a butter knife if there isn’t a sword handy (I have done it)
-There are over 9 million bubbles in one glass of champagne. *hiccup*

We love cute signs (and frames and vintage clipboards!) and with two graphic designers on our team we are always up for personalizing small and large signage to make your guests actually READ them! If you should decide to DIY, make sure guests can read them from 8 feet away so they can have their drink decisions made by the time they order!

Es**rt cards tell a guest which table is there’s. They should have the formal rendition of the first and last name of the person or couple so your planner can put them in alphabetical order by LAST NAME! We really want to create these place cards for a couple! We just love them! Let us know if you want this for your wedding!

Life in the Seven Acre Woods….Oliver and I are contemplating a walk in the snow. I have always thought the meaning of flowers was something that has been lost in modern day flower exchanges. But I still like to tuck something into bouquets that has a special message even if no one knows but me! Tell me your favorite flower and I’ll tell you what it’s meaning is......

I had to take advantage of some remaining peonies I saw at Wegmans so I could come home and let them spend some time enhancing my plethora of hydrangeas! So I clipped a few hydrangeas, some ferns from the woods and a few other goodies from the pots and beds around here to make a pretty centerpiece for....Hal Warner. Happy Tuesday, honey!

Once inside the cocktail area we are welcomed by the adorable hi tops that make me want to get a dress made just like them! Bold stripes, fantastic floral ties by Katherine, owner of Kempton Floral Design leave us happy to spend some time in this room sipping their signature drinks with illuminated ice cubes that put a smile on everyone's face and a taste that bartender Jesse, of Saucon Valley Country Club, concocted with fresh ingredients, that was amazing! He even created a fun cocktail that changed color once ingredients were added which was part science, part art! And then into the ballroom we go where Allium Floral Design and Flower Essence, Flower & Gift Shop both worked together to create the most colorful whimsical space that drew you inside their world of magical gardens and the fun little creatures who adorn them! All linens for this event came from Total Table of Paoli.

“A Touch of Whimsy” was all it took to start the synergy between so many creative and hardworking people on behalf of the St. Lukes 107th Charity Ball last weekend. From an idea between co-chairs, Fran Fisher and Shirlee Neumeyer, (who love their Mackenzie- Child’s designs!) who came up with the concept and then freed me to go crazy with concepts, patterns, and color! And working behind the scenes with committee member, Susan Fagerstrom, to bring back old (and seek new)floral designers to showcase some of the most talented floral designers in the Lehigh Valley! These artists generously donated their time, talent and beautiful flowers to make this event beyond our wildest dreams. THIS is what you get when you let artists create! Pure❤️ magic! I adore them all! Then, toss in the extremely hardworking crew of Smith Brothers Tents, Omnivent Inc., and Saucon Valley Country Club and generosity of Plantique....well let’s just say they were the muscle behind the hustle! There were so many more people involved that make this event truly spectacular but these are the ones who helped make it LOOK good! Stay tuned for more highlights and close ups with credit being given where credit is due!!! Thank you all for making my dream come true!
