Congrats to the newest Riverfest Commodores and First Mate!!!

Riverfest La Crosse

Officials of La Crosse’s Riverfest today revealed the Commodore and First Mate who will reign over this year’s Fourth of July week festivities. Mike and Laurie Lubinsky of La Crosse were selected by past Commodores of Riverfest from a pool of dozens of area men and women.

Mike Lubinsky is General Manager of Colgan Air Services. Colgan Air provides aircraft maintenance and storage, corporate aviation services and flight instruction at the La Crosse Regional Airport. He is a graduate of Onalaska High School, and has worked at Colgan for nearly 40 years. First Mate Laurie is a Minnesota licensed dental assistant who works at Gundersen Dental Specialties in La Crosse in the Orthodontics Department. She is a graduate of Caledonia High School. She studied at Rochester Community and Technical College.

The Lubinskys will officially reign over the 41st annual Riverfest, July 3 - 6, in Riverside Park in La Crosse.

The fest will feature lots of family fun, and musical acts including Josh Ross, Drake Milligan, Blue Collar 40, Brett Westgrove and Boogie and the Yo-Yoz, among others. They will also represent Riverfest at other community activities, including several area parades and ceremonies. Their affiliation with Riverfest culminates a life together of loving the river. They met on the river, and were married on the La Crosse Queen. They enjoy fishing and boating. They have attended Riverfest for years, but watch the fireworks from their boat. Mike and Laurie have two grown children.

The Commodore and First Mate’s community activities include involvement in Airfest, Freedom Honor Flight, the Warriors, among others. They have served as boosters for their children in four different sports.

The Lubinskys will assume their titles at the Commodore Dinner on June 11th at the Radisson Hotel.
