Happy 4th of July! I kind of feel like Barbie today after 2 extremely hot MOIST days...a few more yet to come.

Living stones(lithops), soooo cute! Lithops originate in South Africa. They go "dormant" late summer to winter- soo no need to water them. You can water every few weeks from late spring to early summer. Remember- NO WATER IN SUMMER. They love full sun of 4-5 hours. The space between them WIDENS early autumn between the lobes- THEN you can start to water every so often. Most of the plant grows BELOW the soil surface. The only time to do any repotting is in spring in cactus mix.

I have had 4 phone calls(today) as to whether or not we have mint plants out in the greenhouse(is there an article somewhere???). So, we are sold out of all mints, BUT- when I asked them what they were using the mint for?- baking? mint juleps? tea?...ALL my folks said they wanted to plant it out in their gardens...not in a pot. If you ever want to plant mint, PLEASE put your mint in a pot. Mint goes EVERYWHERE...and I want you to still love it. So, whether spearmint, peppermint, mint julep(yes, that is a separate mint), or whatever mint you plant- CONTAINERIZE IT PLEASE.
(Yes- we have even had chocolate, orange, and pineapple mints).
