This is a big life moment to be celebrated by the two of you! In the excitement of becoming engaged, many couples forget to celebrate between themselves. Take some time—as much time as you like—to keep this sweet secret to yourselves.

2. Tell Your Immediate Family First
Parents are number 1, followed by siblings and your closest extended family. If you or your betrothed have children, they should hear the news from you before anyone else.

3. Make Your Engagement Announcement Personal
If you can share the news in person, that’s always a bonus. If you can’t, FaceTime or your video platform of choice is the next best thing. Whatever you do, do not hit send on your social channels before you have told the key players in your life.

4. Create Thoughtful Engagement Announcement Social Posts
Everyone wants to see you, a moment from the proposal, the ring (and the joy!). Take time to calibrate exactly what you want to say image-wise and caption-wise. Simple is often best. Follow the lead of celebrities who often post a simple pic and minimalist caption.
