Guess what?!

I’ve been harvesting cedar branches for our designs this week!

I’m allergic to cedar so it’s not something that I do often, but these branches were just too pretty to pass up!

PSA of the week: Wear long sleeves and gloves when harvesting flowers and foliages that you’re allergic to.

The Last Lilies of the Season

As the cool weather settles in, we’re saying goodbye to the final lilies from our flower farm 🌸.

Their vibrant petals and delicate fragrance have been a favorite all summer long.

One of my most favorite things to design are flowers for our church.

When the service is over, my husband enjoys handing them out to other members to be enjoyed at their home as a reminder that they’re loved.

This has become part of our Blessing Bouquet ministry that Shyanne began during covid.

Each week, in addition to the church flowers being joyfully given, we try to deliver a design to someone in our community that is experiencing a hard time.

Most times, we’re able to sit, talk and pray with them reminding them that they are thought of and loved.

We had just a little rain & hail during Wednesday’s storm. ☔️ Gotta love those summer thunderstorms. Yes, I’m the one that left the car windows down & we lost an apple tree, but most of the flowers were fine! Laughing or else I’d be crying.😂

Did you know that when lilies are in bloom their petals bruise & break easily? One way around this is to harvest them at a brightly colored, puffed bud stage. That way the petals are less likely to be bruised or broken when they reach their final destination.
