This weekend was one of the best ever for cakes! Each customer gave me a general theme or a topper and then let me have complete creative control after that. Those are easily my most favorite kinds of orders! Here is one of three cakes from this weekend that had me tapping into my inner child. ✨

I've written, deleted, and rewritten this announcement what feels like a thousand times. I guess it's just best to spit it out...

Our time as a catering business is coming to an end...
•
As we all know, life moves quickly and opportunities arise unexpectedly. I was recently offered back and accepted my former teaching position at MCHS that I held for five years before resigning to be a stay-at-home mom with my son. I could write you all a novel on why this is the best decision for my family and me, but I'll just keep it short and trust y'all know this decision wasn't taken lightly or without lots of prayer.
•
Please know this has nothing to do with a lack of support. This community is incredible and y'all have kept me and my small team at max workload capacity this entire time. Cooking has always been a labor of love for me, and it's been such a blessing to share that love with all of you. I'll never be able to express how grateful I am to everyone who has supported this crazy venture from day one! Luckily, The BRK IS NOT going away completely!!
•
While we will be phasing out catering and closing the storefront, I'll be transitioning to a homebased business still taking custom bakery orders as time allows. The business license for The Blue Ribbon Kitchen will always remain active, and I plan to always take orders for custom cakes, cupcakes, brownies, charcuterie, etc. Availability will be much more limited during the school year, but there will more information and details to come later.
•
For now, I just wanted to let everyone know the news. I'm so excited to be back in the classroom without having to hang up my apron for good. I'm still here to satisfy your sweet tooth!

P.S. I'm in the process of contacting everyone with orders on the books between now and December 31st just to touch base, share the news, and confirm their order. New bookings are not being added but CURRENT BOOKINGS ARE NOT BEING CANCELLED!!!!

I try my hardest to take on every order that comes my way so turning people down for Fridays in June and July has been tough, but tonight made it so much easier!

📆 Booking requests for the summer have started rolling in, and it’s so exciting!
•
I thought now would be a good time to let everyone know that I’m closing the books for Fridays in June and July. My little boy’s daycare closes on Fridays in the summer, so I’m doing the same. I spend countless hours away from him and miss so many meals, snuggles, and bedtimes chasing this dream. I don’t regret it, but I’m also SO excited to have these Fridays with just the two of us. This is the only summer I’ll ever have with my two year old, and I plan to soak up every moment I can.
•
I do have a couple Friday orders/events already on the books that came before this decision was made…I will absolutely honor those bookings. DO NOT WORRY! There just won’t be any more added.
•
I can’t thank you all enough for your continued support and understanding. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again…I absolutely love the BRK, but I love my baby way more. ♥️

It’s been an 𝒾𝓃𝒸𝓇𝑒𝒹𝒾𝒷𝓁𝓎 𝔹𝕌𝕊𝕐 few days but all for the best reasons!

From graduation celebrations and first birthday parties to kicking off Teacher Appreciation and National Nurses/Hospitals Week with a bang…pulling the third all-nighter in BRK history was absolutely worth it. It’s such a joy to help you celebrate all the special moments in life, and our nurses and teachers deserve ALL the appreciation!
