Books Along the Teche Literary Festival Mystery Bus Tour, “Dave’s Haunts and Jaunts,” was a great opportunity to celebrate literature, the history of New Iberia, and the solve a crime written and facilitated my myself, Amanda Shackelford, aka Miranda Rites. A huge thank you to the festival board and especially the actors who donated their time to make it all come alive. The guests had an absolute blast and I think narrating bus tours might be my retirement plan!!!! 🐊 🐍 ❤️

Tickets on sale for Dave’s Haunts and Jaunts Mystery Bus Tour

Come and enjoy this wonderful tour of many places made famous through the likes of Dave Robicheaux and Clete Purcel. The tour will make you feel like you are a character in the book. Amanda Shakelford who’s well known for her sold-out mystery dinners, will be the director and tour guide of this mystery escapade.

The tour begins with lunch at Victor’s Cafe (see menu below) and continues on a luxury bus that will take you to visit the Teche Motel, historical New Iberia sites, and more of Dave Robicheaux and Clete Purcel’s favorite spots. The mystery bus tour will also stop at the famous Cane River Pecan Company. There you can shop for great gifts/souvenirs and enjoy a piece of their wonderful, award-winning pecan pie. The bus tour will end at the Iberia Parish Library’s main campus, and you will be able to attend the reception for the L’Acadian Art Guild.

Lunch Menu:
Shrimp etouffee or grilled chicken breast over fettuccine noodles and a cream sauce, fresh candied carrots, a green salad, and a bread roll. The dessert will be a brownie sundae with a homemade chocolate ganache and whipped cream.

Online ticket purchases highly recommended as bus seats are limited, and there is no guarantee of same-day ticket availability. Tour is Friday April 5, 2024 and ticket cost is $75.00
