Jean Lafitte And Barataria Island

Jean Lafitte was a pirate who operated in the Gulf of Mexico in the early 19th century, and he used Barataria Island in Louisiana as a base for his activities. Here's our first season on the Elite Red Fish Series
and let me tell you that in my first episode which is episode 35, i was with Gary Morieno, and it may not look like it, but it was freezing cold bad weather and being from the swamp and experiencing this kinda weather before, i think this was the worst day on a boat that i ever had. When watching the episode, it really looks like no bad weather, but i kinda thought that i was gonna die that day. lol. When i got off the boat, i said that i would never shoot for that show again, and they called me back and i said i'll give it one more try and ended up having fun. Glad i decided to give it another shot.

Check out our "New Song" "Dollars and Cents"! Well... it's a bit of a throwback. You see... Back in the early 2000s, I was a DJ primarily creating remixes of popular radio tracks and crafting beats for them. During that time, I had the pleasure of meeting an underground rapper who eventually became a close friend. He used to visit my studio with his own music for recording.

He had been trying to get his songs on the radio, but they weren't quite fitting the radio format. I suggested we try something in the hip-hop genre and created an instrumental for him. We worked on the song together, but at the time we were working on it, Hurricane Katrina struck, causing us to lose the computer with the original track. All I had left was a rough draft burned onto a CD.

As years passed, I stumbled upon that rough draft from time to time, always reminiscing about what could have been. But thanks to the magic of AI, I was finally able to isolate the vocals from the rough draft and recreate the music. So here it is, the very first song I ever produced for someone to lay their vocals on. It might not be everyone's favorite, but it holds a special place in my heart as it marks the beginnings of my musical journey. Those were truly some of the most cherished moments of my life.

Feb-18-2023 Rosethorne Parade
The annual Rosethorne Mardi Gras Parade recently trekked down Jean Lafitte Boulevard in Lafitte to mark another Mardi Gras. Here's The Parade in it's entirety. Filming these are petty intense to get the right shots using handheld cameras live. But thanks to my team, we got all the shots right while having a blast! In some spots we had to scramble the music so we don't get a copywrite hit, so some parts may sound a little weird.
