Traditional Shakshuka is a basic onion, garlic, peppers and tomato base with seasonings like cumin, garlic powder, ground coriander, turmeric S&P. It’s very easy to make your spin on this dish with pretty much any of favorite ingredients as long as your creating a base where you can nestle your eggs in and cook until you have your way of eating them.
Here I added some side of my famous guacamole with garlic powder and cilantro 🌿 ENJOY πŸ… 🍳

Started a simple No Egg Challah in the morning and let rise for a couple of hours. I actually forgot about it! πŸ™ƒ Came back and rescued it from my closet where it was bubbling and oozing away. It was so light, I could feel it as I formed the dough on my board. Cut in half and then in three. Rolled out the three blobs into wide long strips, shmeared my mixture of dry zaatar and extra virgin olive oil on it and folded the strips over to trap the zaatar inside. Then as you can see, braided (not my best braiding work πŸ˜’) Put it in a snug bread tin sprayed with PAM. Covered it again with a moist towel and put it back into the closet. Should have only been 15-20 min. But I forgot about again!!πŸ€ͺ 1 hour laterβ€¦πŸ™„. It was all poofed up like crazy, begging to be baked! 🍞 So a little egg wash brush on top and in the oven @ 350 F (Can’t forget this time!😬) 15 min it came out INSANE!!! Maybe all the forgetting about the proofing process actually created the fluffiest and light as air bread. With the perfect ratio of zaatar throughout - the taste of the fresh thyme and sumac and sesame seeds was the an amazing balance of heaven in our mouths! Must try this

Not my prettiest version but definitely one of my tastiest (Single Serving)
Ingredients
πŸ“2 eggs
πŸ“1/2 red bell pepper, chopped
πŸ“1/2 yellow bell pepper, chopped
πŸ“1 ripe red tomato, chopped
πŸ“1/4 c fresh parsley or cilantro
πŸ“3 cloves garlic, crushed
πŸ“1 tbl tomato paste
πŸ“1/4 tsp garlic powder
πŸ“1/4 tsp allspice
πŸ“1/4 tsp ground turmeric
πŸ“1/8 tsp ground cumin
πŸ“1/4 tsp paprika
πŸ“ Extra Virgin Olive Oil
πŸ“Salt & Pepper
πŸ“1/2 small red onion, diced
πŸ“ 1/4 c of hot or boiling water
Instructions
1. In a medium size sauce pan, heat up some olive oil and add onions, red and yellow peppers, garlic Until translucent in color or you can see that it is mostly cooked, but not entirely. οΏΌ
2. Now you can add all the spices including salt and pepper and adjust your olive oil level if needed. Add in your tomato paste and incorporate with your vegetables until it is thick. Add and your water now and allow the mixture to blend and sizzle for about one minute on medium heat.
3. With a rubber spatula or spoon, create a space for each egg. Put your eggs in a bowl to make it easier to four in each space in your pan. Add your fresh herb either parsley or cilantro.
