Lahaina, my home 🤍…. One month… Thank you for all of your support as I moved through the first month of processing. The grief process is real but on a completely different level, one that my entire community is going through, all on different levels. There are still so many things to be grateful for.

Many friends, family, colleagues, clients (past & present) and strangers have reached out with genuine concern. Thank you.

Many of you have asked how to best support Maui. Here are some of my thoughts, although, I’m sure there are so many different ways to show love to Maui…..

1) continue to keep Lahaina and all of Maui in your THOUGHTS and/or PRAYERS
2) VISIT MAUI…. we need responsible tourism right now more than ever….. people who are respectful and love Maui… although Lahaina is closed to allow for healing and recovery, so many other wonderful parts of the island need you to visit….. the majority of our island relies on tourism, if you don’t come, we may not be here to service you in the future…. for the present, come put money back into our Maui economy, bring donations, be of service while you’re hear and enjoy all of the beautiful things Maui has to offer…. in the future, plan your wedding here (of course I’m going to throw that in… what a great way to lead in bringing people back)
3) DONATE…. I’ve listed ideas in our Maui Fire stories highlight…. direct donations to people in need, Oprah’s People Fund, Maui United Way
4) RAISE AWARENESS
5) SUPPORT LOCAL…. I think this is huge in the recovery process.… hire local Maui vendors for your weddings and shop local online shops for yourself or for gifts this year (who wouldn’t want something from Maui?!), sponsor donations from@local businesses to wildfire victims ( is delivering flowers, is delivering fish, is replacing burnt jewelry …. and so many more, I’m sure)

Lahaina is a strong community that I am so proud to be a part of and is made up of some pretty amazing, strong and resilient people. We’ll get through this. Thank you for your love and support of Maui. Maui no ka oi.
