Whitewater Wednesday returns to Kernville, on the Wild & Scenic Kern River!

Sign-up your Business, Team, Family or Friends for this once a year discounted trip on the River!

It will be a fun-filled day of sunshine, water fights, soggy sneakers, and action packed rapids.

On this day only, the Kernville Chamber of Commerce, along with commercial rafting companies operating on the Kern River, will sponsor different trip options:

The one-hour Lickety Split trip is an inexpensive introduction to whitewater rafting. The run is full of enough lively excitement to challenge just about everyone from tykes to grandmas. One-hour Lickety Split Class I-III, $65/person. Run times are: 10:30am, 12:00pm, 1:30pm or 3:00pm.

Two Hour - Sequoia Splash Run ~ BIG WATER AHEAD! Here’s our two-hour “SEQUOIA SPLASH” raft trip (Class II-IV) on the “Wild & Scenic” Kern, California’s premiere Whitewater River! $125/person. Run times are: 10:00am or 2:00pm.

Lunch is included with all trips. Extra lunches are available for purchase.

Band Spotlight:

Just Dave Band

Just Dave Band is a traveling country-rock-blues-roots-soul band from Los Angeles’ San Fernando Valley. Led by Dave “Just Dave” Bernal, it promises to share a special song with every walk of life that stumbles into any nightclub or festival they play, as long as he/she came to have a good time!

Dave has played harmonica on the stages of American Idol and 30 Seconds to Fame. His harmonica is also currently featured on the new Discovery Channel series, “Sons of Guns”, and on plenty of regional and national albums. Growing up in the Northern California small town of Grass Valley, Dave experienced country living, with a little hippie community attitude mixed in.

It’s probably what shaped his sound.

The music blends high-energy rhythm with laid-back, warm vocals, and frenzied harmonica/guitar soloing. The combination of Dave “bigger-than-his-body” voice, with a rock & blues edged band, brings a new twist to the classic country sound. Dave hopes to get your attention with his songwriting, too. The new sound of Just Dave Band, combines all he’s learned in the blues, country, rock worlds with stories of heartbreak right out of his own life. Dave is happy to call California’s San Fernando Valley home, which serves as a backdrop for many of his songs. Many are a tribute to the “Laurel Canyon sound” made famous by singers and songwriters of the 1960s.
