Two brothers had a dream to one day own their own resturant. Giampaolo & Roberto Reginato came to the United States in the Early 70’s. They found work in New York City and New Jersey at various restaurants before they decided to move north and settle in the Catskills. In the Catskills the brothers found work at Villaggio Italia.
The Catskill at that time were one of the most popular destinations in the north-east. Family’s from the city and surrounding states would come visit to take advantage of the various activities and beauty of the area.
Roberto was the Chef and Giampaolo was the maître d'. In 1980 the brother’s decided they wanted to open there own resturant and began the search for a location. They settled on Lake Katrine. Helping in that decision was the closeness to the 9W shopping district and the IBM factory.
They Found this beautiful victorian house that belonged to the Closi Family and renovated it mostly with material that was at the house. The Restaurant opened on May 5th 1982 and has been in the same family ever since.
