Here are a couple of wide angle sunset photos from last evening's trek to the beach. My favorite time of the day is when the storm breaks and the sun comes out just before sunset. The clouds were on fire, the air was crisp... and it just makes me smile.

Unfortunately, the Boat Parade was cancelled due to inclement weather this year. The Grand Marshal reception, however, was a hit with Boyz II Men performing as Grand Marshals. Here are images from the event.

The 2023 Grand Marshal Experience presented by JetLinx was hosted at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. This Winterfest Celebration welcomed our Grand Marshals includes dignitaries and celebrities who joined us at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino to celebrate, Winterfest style.

One of the things I love most about being a part of the Winterfest Family is covering their annual Black Tie Event. This year, there were over 1100 folks at this amazing party at the Hard Rock and the primary entertainment included up close performances from the cast of the spectacular Moulin Rouge! The Musical (Thank you Broadway Across America).

Seminole Hard Rock Winterfest Black Tie Ball presented by Broward Health in Association with Republic National Distributing Co. The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino will transform into turn-of-the-century Paris for this black-tie ball with entertainment sponsored by DEX Imaging. Welcome Reception by Fision Fiber Optics by Hotwire Communications. Guests will enjoy performances from the cast of the spectacular Moulin Rouge! The Musical (Thank you Broadway Across America) and the evening will be filled with a rich array of music from the 12-piece band “Private Stock.” Republic National Distributing Co. will bring spirits and wines such as Deep Eddy, Botanist Gin and Remy Martin.

I’ve always loved the Sand Hill Crane. The Florida Sandhill Crane is listed as Threatened on Florida’s Endangered and Threatened Species List. They are a migratory species and protected under the federal Migratory Bird Treaty Act and several Florida statutes. I took this with my iPhone at lunch today. will go out with real camera and get better photos. If you see them, they are very friendly but please give them their space.

2022 Winterfest Launch Party Celebration this Parade's theme is "Neon Nightlife Under the Sea." Hosted by Fort Lauderdale Harbor Beach Marriott Hotel & Spa. Sponsored by GrayRobinson with Casa Calabria Restaurant with supporters such as Robinson Jewelers, Neuvana and Cleveland Clinic. The event hosted various top restaurants, amazing entertainment, poster unveiling, Grand Marshals announcement, and decor along with the promotion of the organization's media.

I have to say, I'm really impressed with the quality of this camera. At such high ISO, there is very little noise. This young hummingbird was hovering over the Fire Bush poking her beak into it for some nectar for a very short amount of time. The camera - my new Nikon Z6 II, was set on manual, with Auto ISO (ISO range 100 - 12800). The Lens was an older (non Z) F2.8 Nikon 70-200 with a 2x teleconverter. The shot was hand held - F5.6, 1/2000th, 400mm, ISO 12800. Still remarkably sharp and I'm very happy.

Example of a rainy shot. Had to do it. High speed, high iso, virtually no post processing. The Great Heron didn't mind the raindrops, BUT, I did.... didn't want my lens or new camera body to get wet. ;*(

More photos from last weekend's trek to Green Cay. It was a rainy morning, and it made for a very moody set of photos. Still dialing in my D6 II, here are a couple of more fun edits. FWIW, I'm loving the new Lightroom Classic masking features, allowing me to really focus on the subjects and do finer adjustments. Even turn background black and white. Wnjoy

I went to Green Cay this morning and was dodging the raindrops. I was hoping to catch a painted bunting (I heard they are back) and was thrilled to have captured this pair - a male and female at one of the feeders. I was dialing in my new Z6 II - trying different focus settings, etc. I'm very happy so far - these photos were iso 12800 (yes really), with a nikon 70-200 lens and a 2x teleconverter. So, iso 12800, 1/2000th, F5.6. I cannot believe how little noise there is at that iso. And absolutely thrilled as to how sharp it is at 400mm through a 2x.
