This nostalgic photo, taken in 2017, during our Jazz on J Street Ensemble's first concert for the Cultural Council, is being used for this month's advertisement for 2024 Summer Jazz Series. Jazz on J Street lives on and on! I also am including another of Jacek's photos from that night and his promotional photo. "Life intersects, Jazz connects."

Life Intersects, Jazz Connects.

Jazz on J Street is an intimate hip spot where talented and innovative Professional Jazz musicians come to JAM together LIVE every 3rd Tuesday inside The Book Cellar at the corner of J Street and Lake Ave in the heart of Downtown Lake Worth Beach. We are not open-mic.

We transform a mild-mannered independent book store into the hippest Jazz joint in South Florida. Our gatherings have become a community builder that stretches beyond all boundaries. Our motto is simple "Life intersects. Jazz connects."

In less than 4 years Jazz on J Street has been featured on every things to do and places to go event calendar in Palm Beach County and South Florida from the Palm Beach Post, Sun Sentinel, LULA Lake Worth Arts, Cultural Council of Palm Beach County, South Florida Jazz List, The Real Tracy Fields Jazz WLRN Radio Talk Show, Legends Radio on Mornings with Jill and Rich and legendary Stu Grant’s Cool Jazz Florida. Originally founded in March 2016 by flutist Blanche Williams as part of her musical journey. Living in Lake Worth but having to travel throughout South Florida to hear live Jazz became her inspiration to create Jazz on J Street. With an idea, the musical support of renowned Jazz Drummer Jeff Abbott and the support of Joyce Greenberg Brown Artist/Founder of the Clay Glass Metal Stone Gallery on J Street in Downtown Lake Worth Beach, Jazz on J Street was born. Blanche’s vision was to create a space where the destination was the Live Jazz surrounded by the beauty and creative synergy of art. Jazz on J Street originally began with a week that included both a Professional JAM Session and a Listening Party with classic albums spun by DJ Digsy Empire. We even collaborated with the renowned Top 5 Records, one of the area's only remaining Record Stores, which also happens to be on J Street for a special Listening Party. We outgrew the Clay Glass Metal Stone Gallery and in July 2018 we moved a few doors up to The Book Cellar Café and Wine Bar at the corner of J Street and Lake Avenue, the main street in Downtown Lake Worth Beach. Our JAM Sessions consistently attract a diverse and distinguished array of seasoned and internationally acclaimed performers along with rising stars and developing musicians from the area's High Schools and colleges. We are proud of the caliber and charisma of musicians who continue to sit in and the phenomenal energy that flows through our creative space. Our supporting audience is as eclectic and loyal as our musicians, coming from all ages and stages in life to create a cohesive family of Jazz Lovers. We are the subject and muse for professional photographers, filmmakers, and artists who capture the priceless moments that speak volumes to our musical art form. Live Jazz brings people together and the spirit and passion of Jazz on J Street brings people together to enjoy one another while supporting the music! ACHIEVEMENTS: Jazz on J Street was asked to return for the 2020 Second Annual Palm Beach International Jazz Festival after being a hit as the opening performance for the First Annual Festival held at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts. July 2019 Jazz on J Street collaborated for a special Uptown JAM Performance with the Norton Museum of Arts in West Palm Beach. The evening featured ten of Jazz on J Street’s best musicians performing to a standing room only crowd of over 800. During Fall 2018, Jazz on J Street proudly collaborated with Grammy Nominated Music Educator Tiffany Cox to conduct a workshop for her Jazz students at Lake Worth Community High School. We kicked off 2018 by taking the music a step further with the ground breaking "Art Meets Jazz on J Street" Gallery Exhibition at Clay Glass Metal Stone Gallery spotlighting the art form of Jazz by featuring the artwork of our musicians, photographers, and artists. Our filmmaker James Venable also created a short film documentary by the same name. Our film "Art meets Jazz on J Street" was accepted and premiered at the 2018 Boynton Beach Short Film Festival where it won the "Wavelength Award." It later premiered at the Northeast Film Festival in Teaneck, New Jersey. In 2017, the Cultural Council of Palm Beach County featured Jazz on J Street during its signature Summer Music Series to standing room and is even featured on the Council’s website. Every 3rd Tuesday, since 2016, we have been here to bring joy into your life through live music. If you can't make it for whatever reason, we record and stream the JAM live from around the corner or around the world. Jazz is thriving, our family is growing and the best is yet to come...
