Today marks the official first day of winter- Happy Winter Solstice!

Today is the shortest day and the longest night of the whole year. Traditionally, the winter solstice brings us the promise that days will slowly being to get longer.

For centuries we have celebrated this day symbolizing rebirth, renewal and hope for the next season to come.

Did you know that in many cultures honey is a representation of the sun? Eating honey on the winter solstice is said to bring you sweetness into the new year. Treat yourself to a sweet treat today! ❄️🍯

Relish Catering & Events is an award-winning catering company serving the Greater Denver Metro Area and the Western Slope of Colorado. Our talented team has decades of experience providing catering services to an impressive list of social, corporate, and institutional clients.

As a Chef-owned and led team, Relish Catering & Events serves extraordinary food at over 2,000 events each year. We specialize in raising the bar to exceed client and guest expectations and have earned preferred status with over 40 of the area’s top tier venues and corporations.

Relish Catering & Events is currently seeking a Catering Sales & Event Designer to add to our growing sales team. In our fast-paced environment, we are looking for a detail-oriented candidate with sales experience in the hospitality industry and excellent interpersonal communication skills.

The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years experience in catering and event sales. This position requires strong organizational skills, optimal multi-tasking, and an ability to work in a fast-paced environment placing top priority on client relations. Most importantly, we are seeking a team player with positive energy and a can-do attitude to add to our work hard/play hard family!

This position will be successful for someone who:
 has the ability to assess client needs and requirements and ensure satisfaction throughout the planning and design process
 has experience managing events with a strong culinary focus including menu knowledge, fine dining service, and current trends in food and service
 has the ability to upsell with the client’s needs in mind and to enhance the
dining experience
 possesses a proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales goals
 can create and process banquet event orders with clear communication to the staff and onsite team
 has knowledge of effective event sales forecasting and budgeting
 is able to assist clients with overall event vision and place event rental orders
 exudes quick and clear problem solving and leadership qualities that will ensure a successful event for the entire team

The “event season” fluctuates throughout the year providing flexibility for personal time. Occasional nights and weekends will be required based on event requirements. Reliable transportation is imperative as site tours, walkthroughs, and onsite events will require travel across the state.

Base Salary $42,000-$50,000 plus commission on all definite and executed events, based on experience. Our Event Designers make an average of $85,000 per year.
