Bending 1/2" emt into hoops in order to make some low tunnels! Great way to warm up the soil and get a headstart planting flowers before our last frost....stay tuned for more progress! 😍

It's mid March and we've seeded All of our "cool flowers!" 8 shelving units 12 trays per unit 72 plants per tray 6,912 plants! These all will be planted out before our first frost as they thrive in cool soil and can endure colder temps. There will be a second succession of trays replacing them aftwards. This second round will be moved to the hoop house by late April and a third succession being seeded indoors. By the time we are seeding our third round of trays we will also be direct seeding warm annual crops (depending on Mother Nature's mood 😉) 2023 Flower Season Will Be EPIC!! There are always challenges when reaching for Big Goals, "RISE UP" don't give up❤️ You work with what you have and make things work! When driven by passion, there's no Stoppin' You! 🫵🙌💯 TULIP UPDATE:🌷🌷 Tulip crop looks to be on track and we are anticipating beds with early varieties to be blooming last week of April!

We don't save a ton of seeds here on our flower farm but when we are making one last attempt to get these beauties out of the field before our first frost, a lot of them are dropping seeds this late in the season! Bonus! CELOSIA! You may know by now it's one of my favorites sooo I grow a ton of it! When left to mature on its stems before cutting, the seed pods simply burst open and with a little scratching you'll have hundreds of tiny celosia seeds you can plant next year!! The Fun part to this method is the color/variety we see next year from these seeds won't match what we seen last year depending on how they were pollinated! As a cut flower farm we NEED to know what we are planting so these mystery seed varieties will be planted in our yard to see what comes up! 😍

Dreaming of warmer days!! We Love Celosia so much, we planted 6 rows (3'x50' each) of all different celosia varieties in 2022! We've followed along as some flower farmers across the US have been creating brand new color varieties on their farms, it's quite Amazing what they've accomplished! We will be growing some of these one-of-a-kind varieties in our fields this year!! I can't wait! 😬💓
