The moment you’ve been waiting for is finally here. On behalf of the entire Ecklin Events staff, we would like to welcome you to Trust46 - Lancaster’s newest venue!

Situated at the intersection of East King and North Duke Streets in Downtown Lancaster, the building originally housed the Farmers Trust Company of Lancaster. In 1928-1929, architect Melvern R. Evans brilliantly re-envisioned the structure, transforming it into the brick Georgian Revival bank that stands today.

With its towering columns and intricate architectural detail, we’ve worked to preserve many of the building’s original elements to achieve the perfect blend of historic charm and modern sophistication.

A few noteworthy elements include…

Travertine Tile: The flooring between the ballroom’s wooden dance floor and outer edging was once covered in carpet. When pulled away, the original travertine was revealed. It was then carefully restored using a high-grit process, bringing back its natural beauty with a smooth matte finish.

Ballroom Chandeliers: As guests enter through our King Street entrance, they are welcomed by three grand chandeliers. To restore their original elegance with enhanced functionality, the chandeliers were rewired, fitted with updated light fixtures, and left to age a natural patina.

Upper/Lower Level Landing: Upon closer inspection, you’ll notice that our stair railings were once anchored into the floor and served as stanchions where visitors would have lined up to see a bank teller.

We are so proud to introduce this space to the community as a grand representation of Lancaster’s rich history as well as the abundant beauty that our city continues to offer locals and visitors alike.

Ideal for weddings, photoshoots, corporate events, and more, Trust46 overflows with an elegance and all-encompassing grandeur that is truly timeless.

Trust46 is officially accepting bookings beginning in October, 2024. For booking information, please visit our website or email us at [email protected].

Thank you for being a part of this journey with us. We’re excited to keep you involved as we work toward our next grand reveal!

Here are our top three factors to consider when searching for an event venue.

1. Capacity and Layout: Each type of event comes with its own layout and capacity needs. For instance, a corporate conference may call for theater-style seating with unobstructed views of a stage, while a wedding reception might require room for a dance floor and buffet setup. It's crucial to understand the specific requirements of your event to ensure that the venue's layout can meet those needs.

2. Amenities and Services: Consider which amenities are essential for your event. Whether you prioritize indoor or outdoor space, access to preferred vendors, convenient parking, or a customizable floor plan, it's crucial to identify what will ensure your event runs smoothly. Regarding services, think about event staffing, WiFi/internet availability, and on-site catering options provided by the event space. By gaining a clear understanding of both amenities and services, you'll be better equipped to select the perfect event venue.

3. Define your event needs: This can help you budget more accurately. You can prioritize what's essential and what's nice-to-have, which can prevent overspending or disappointment if your desired space is beyond your budget. Furthermore, with a list of requirements in hand, you can easily compare different event spaces. This allows you to make an informed decision based on which venue best meets your needs.

Don’t hesitate to reach out to us via email at [email protected] for information regarding available event venues.

At weddings we often hear “May these rings become a symbol of your endless love”, but do you know how this tradition originated? 💍

The tradition of exchanging "rings of love" first began in Ancient Egypt, where they were symbolic tokens made of woven reeds or leather. The circular band, with no end, came to represent eternal life and love.

Culture and tradition began to intertwine when the Greeks conquered the Egyptians and the Romans conquered the Greeks. It was the Romans who first solidified the symbolic connection between rings and marriage. The "fede" ring, featuring two hands clasping in love or agreement (known as dextrarum iunctio), became popular during this era, symbolizing friendship, partnership, and the marriage contract.

Ancient Egyptians believed in the significance of the ring finger, specifically the fourth finger of the left hand. It is this finger they believed to contain the "vena amoris" or "vein of love", leading directly to the heart. The Romans adopted this belief and thus began the tradition of wearing wedding rings on ring fingers. While this anatomical belief may not be accurate, the tradition of wearing rings on the ring finger persists to this day.

This unique history of wedding bands sheds light on the rich tapestry of cultural influences that have shaped this enduring tradition.
