🎄On December 10th, Groff Event Center had the pleasure of hosting the Pet Food Experts Holiday Party at our venue. It was fun and festive!

🔔Pet Food Experts’ Corporate Headquarter in California contacted us to plan their annual Christmas Party for the Lancaster location. PFE wanted something stress and hassle-free since they had 6+ other locations party to plan.

✔️Debra Beighley is a 5th grade teacher at Ann Letort Elementary School in Penn Manor School District. ✔️She has been teaching in the district for nine years.
✔️Prior to teaching she was a Lancaster City Police Officer for 10 years.
✔️She has three beautiful daughters and two amazing grandchildren. ✔️When she is not working she loves spending time with family.
✔️She enjoys the outdoors, going to Rehoboth beach, Hershey Park, listening to music, reading, and watching movies.
✔️A fun fact about Debra is that she has two cute and cuddly bunnies named Snickers and Marshmallow.

✨What do you call an employee that always shows up for work, never late, and does her job with the brightest attitude ever? We call her our shining star! Say hello to Catherine Bradley. The Facility Specialist at Groff Event Center.

✨Mrs. Bradley does a little bit of everything around here. Cathy assists us with cleaning, setting up, tearing down, hosting events, landscaping, etc.

✨ Catherine is very friendly and easy to get along with any and everyone. Mrs. Bradley enjoys helping people; she has a motherly instinct and a heart of gold.

✔️ 15 years as a shuttle driver
✔️ 8 years of experience in car detailing
✔️ 5 years of residential and commercial contractions
✔️ 3 years as an event coordinator
✔️ Mrs. Bradley also does landscaping, housekeeping, and snow removal as a side hustle.

✨There are many wonderful benefits of operating an event venue but our favorite ones are the amazing memories we share from each event.
———
✨About two weeks ago, we hosted an All-Inclusive Funeral Dinner for a former LGH Nurse. During the event, we got to witness The Nurses Honor Guard of Lancaster County pay tribute to their former nurse-mate.
✨ The Lancaster County Nurses Honor Guard is a group of nurses, both retired and active, who volunteer their time to perform a solemn ceremony at the funerals or memorial services of their colleagues. They recognize those who have dedicated their lives to caring for others.
✨It’s kind of like a military funeral, but it’s nursing style. The ceremony is brief, just three minutes long. It includes candle lighting, the presentation of a white rose to the deceased nurse, and the ringing of a bell to relieve the health care professional of his or her earthly duties.
✨ Then the candle is blown out and it's put into a box, which is the nurses' honor guard box. There is a Bible in that box and all the girls that are signed up doing the ceremony will sign it before the box is presented to the family as a keepsake.
✨ The service provided by the Lancaster County Nurses Honor Guard is free. It is available to families of any nurse who has passed away. If you would like the honor guard to perform the final tribute ceremony at your loved ones' funeral or memorial service, email [email protected]. Please visit their website to learn more.

✨We love seeing our family grow! Up next is Olivia Smucker. She joined the Groff Event Center crew last December.

✨Olivia is one of the many Event Coordinators we have in-house. She’s very easy to work with and always up for a challenge.

✔️Ms. Smucker is the digital content coordinator for United Way of Lancaster County.
✔️She works with the marketing department on social media, digital communications, and events.
✔️Olivia graduated from Goshen College in 2020, where she studied theater, psychology , and communications.
✔️After graduation, she moved to Lancaster to volunteer for The Shalom Project.
✔️Ms. Smucker enjoys being with friends, taking walks around the city, and watching movies.
✔️Fun fact about Olivia is she's directly related to J.M. Smucker, the man who started The Smucker Jelly Company! 😮Now how neat is that❗

Over 160 pieces from more than 100 artists, all celebrating our love for our animal companions and raising money for The Sebastian Foundation for Animal Rescue and rescue pets in our community! The rain might make a stroll around town less pleasurable- but we have a FREE PARKING LOT, so the rain is no issue for us! Park in our private lot or in the Groff Event Center lot adjacent to our own. Volunteers and rescue pups from Sebastian Foundation will be there collecting donations and selling rescue animal items and cupcakes (for dogs and people!) from Scratch Bakes, so you might want to bring a little cash.
