3000 Dahlias in! Been a long project with many ups and downs. I had hoped to get dahlias to y’all this Spring but many things spoiled that plan. But I feel real good about all I have learned and the new plan in place.

Thankful for ( ) for sharing her collection and always supporting me in my farm dreams miles away. I wouldn’t be where I am without her and her years of hard work.

Thanks to all the folks who helped me dig these baddies up especially on the wet cold days. ( instagramless Sara.

Thanks for the rad storage space since my walk-in is so tiny.

Lastly thanks for helping keep the momentum and positivity when I lost varieties, lost large stock, and constant delays. You really helped me crush this project!

Local lettuce on one of my fav Sammie’s by ! Thankful for Emily and Alex always prioritizing buying local. They always go above and beyond in supporting farmers and I am so grateful. They are my longest running wholesale customer and one of the main reasons I decided to make baby greens a big part of my business. Love you guys!

Why have I decided not to return to the farmers market this season? There are many reasons but mainly I need to make my business work better for me. I need more space to breathe, play, spend time with friends and my partner, nap, and move slower.

While the farmers market has been great to connect with all of you and financially a great opportunity for my farm it isn’t serving me or the long term sustainability of my business.

Many people say Alanah just hire more people. Sure, I’ve tried that and have had awesome staff. But most of them also work a full week and it was burning them out as well.

Many farms have business partners, romantic partners, or family that share the responsibility of staffing or helping at the farm. I do not and sometimes we have to make calls that honor ourselves. So as a good friend put it this morning, I am choosing me. I hope all of you can understand that and continue to support my farm.

I still encourage all of you to get out and support the farmers market and the hardworking folks who sell the goods you love.

I’d love for you to continue supporting me at my farmstand. Open 7 days a week now sun up to sun down. The food hub, all our amazing restaurant partners, and grocery stores. Next Friday I will be announcing a new weekly pop up in Langley. So stay tuned for that!
