The woman who duplicated herself in me. Twins for sure. My mom Virgie Milton celebrated her 79th birthday yesterday around family. She was so happy to see another year. After everything she has been through, the fight is still energized in her. She is a trailblazer, lawyer, excellent teacher, entrepreneur, I can go on, but you get it ☺️ I was Trained by the best Mentor -Mom in the world. I decree many more years over your life Momma. Love your daughter

Hard week dealing with lots of pain and sickness but I forced myself out to support Transformation GEMS 2024 Empowerment Conference: Courageously Evolving. It was powerful and amazing! Last year I wasn't physically or mentally able to go. God gave me strength today. My life NOW is dedicated to those who are NEXT. These young powerful leading women held me up today. Thank you all for sharing your day with me. I sat at the young and gifted table today. Special honor to the Visionary Carmen Thomas for her continual community efforts.

Though this was an untimely retirement after working for the County for nearly (28) years. Working for the Court assigned to Judge James Jamo was a dream come true. He is so precious to me. My coach and mentor Judge Shauna Dunnings protected me in rooms that I was absent in. She is the most phenomenal true Judge that I adore. Now my brothers Sheriff Scott Wiggelsworth and Undersheriff Andy Bouck went out of the way to host my retirement.

Happy 35th birthday to my precious Jamie Jones aka Jay Eimaj ❤️ Help me celebrate my eldest daughter by sending messages of love and encouragement. When I tell you the malicious attacks that she had to endure in 2023 were deplorable and disgraceful as a young African American woman. But she Rose above it and kept fighting through floods of tears. I am so proud of her and commend her for not breaking during a season of fiery adversities. We are grateful and appreciative for everyone who prayed and stood by her in Michigan and especially her Tennessee family. Kim has served as a Senior Deputy Clerk for Ingham County for 27 years. She is also the founder and Director of DVM (Dreams and Visions Manifested) non-profit for young men of stature between 11-18 in need of mentors. Kim is also an event planner, a published author, and is the founder of the Ingham County Cultural Diversity Committee.

DVM started 12 years ago, operating out of the offices of a church in Holt. Mostly serving young men who discover them through turning points and agencies, DVM is designed to support fatherless youth. There are a lot of collaborations for the young boys who don’t fit other agency criteria but who may be struggling in school. Youth Empowerment sessions are provided, and they bring the young men together for activities like 3-3 tournaments, school supplies and other support. There is a heavy focus on connection with the community.

Working in the circuit courts juvenile division and ministries at her church, Kim observed a lot of young black men coming through the judicial system, and a lot of single mothers at the church. The need for better support for these young men, such as male role models who looked like them was clear to her, and she wanted to make a difference and show these young men understanding and relation. She needed to find connection and motivation for these men. So she started DVM.

Kim draws her inspiration from her mother, Virgie Milton, who was a foster parent. She grew up witnessing her moms love and action for their community. Her parents founded their own ministry. Her father was the first African American to serve as a chaplain for general motors. Kim's parents taught her that there was more to life than just working your job. They taught her that community was essential. “My mom is 100% with me in everything I do for the community.”

Another inspiration is Leola Taylor, a community advocate for over 50 years. Leola planned events for people of color, she was in the middle of the struggles in the tri county area, and took part in the renaming of city streets like Malcom X. Kim credits Leola for giving her the tools to navigate various circles and tables, and to bring diversity to the forefront.

WFC Ministries, President Minstrel William Crenshaw Jr.'s, Present's the Annual Thanksgiving Community Concert. "A Testimony of THANKSgiving". Many during this season go without food and family support. The Community Concert will be held on Sunday, November 20th @ 5pm! Churches, Pastors, Public Officials, Family, Friends and Recording Artist from around the Southwest Michigan area will gather for this great cause. There will be business vendors on display. It will be packed so get there early. A portion of the proceeds will go towards families in need in Ingham County. Please come out and support and if you can't make it out, feel free to donate towards this worthy cause. WFC Ministries has been working in the community for over (20) years bringing events to help the underprivileged. You don't want to miss it.
