I’ve recently dived into a new hobby: pressing flowers! 🌿 There's something incredibly soothing about collecting beautiful blooms and preserving their elegance forever. It feels like capturing a fleeting moment of nature’s beauty.

One of my favorite parts is the anticipation—carefully setting my collection in the press, then patiently waiting 5 days for them to dry perfectly. It's like waiting for a lovely surprise! 🌼

After that wait, opening the press to reveal the delicate, preserved pieces is always enchanting. Each one holds its unique charm and tells a tiny story.

Here's a sneak peek: currently pressing some stunning coleus varieties. Can’t wait to see how they turn out! 🌺

What an amazing post from our neighbors at Hunter Park GardenHouse … We’d like to share a little more about one of our favorite natives! ❤️🌱

Common milkweed has an amazing capacity to support life. According to the USDA, over 450 insect species feed off of some portion of this plant.

What many folx don’t know is that it also supports ✨human life. ✨It has gotten a bad wrap over the years, being called toxic and bitter. We can tell you that it is neither. It’s an absolutely delicious vegetable. The shoots can be harvested in the spring when not much else is available. The tightly clustered buds can be prepared like broccoli. My favorite part of the plant, though, is the immature pods. Find them while they’re still small & green and before they develop the silky strands that will lift their seeds on the wind. We think they taste just like peas! 🫛 🥹
