✨The Griers✨
“Can we still be friends?” - Sydney after making me cry at the end of their wedding day.

Whenever I’m asked my favorite part of my job, it usually begins with me trying to answer the question with zero emotion because if I think about it too long I’ll start crying. My answer is watching my clients, who I generally spend anywhere from 12-15 months with, finally getting married and starting the next chapter of their lives. I get some variety of misty-eyed at every wedding.
My least favorite part is always the end: because then it’s over, and saying goodbye is the absolute hardest part of my job.
Of all the weddings we’ve done, I don’t think I’ve cried more than at the end of this one.
Sydney & Matt - You are both such amazing people, and I love your love. You are the perfect balance of carefree and grounded , funny and serious. I cannot wait to watch this next chapter unfold for you both. If your story is a testament to anything - it’s how incredible and adventure filled everything that comes next is going to be.

Still not over this day and how the weather eventually ended up playing in Allison & Louis’s favor. Or how when we let their guests know she had decided to get married in the rain, not a single guest batted an eye. Or how the vendor team jumped into action no questions asked to make it happen.

✨The NEW Mr & Mrs Gualdoni!✨
To say their day was incredible is an understatement. After planning their dream outdoor wedding in Vegas and expecting sun, they were greeted with the random storms that are all too familiar to Vegas locals. But Allison was determined to get married outside no matter the weather. Her bridal party and guests (and the sky) understood the assignment and as soon as she walked out onto the aisle, the rain stopped. The result: a beautiful rainbow as a backdrop to their wedding photos, but more importantly, to Allison & Louis’s I dos.

It has been an absolute pleasure working with you both over the last year. I am so glad our paths crossed and so thankful for the trust you put in me to plan the biggest day of your lives. I cannot wait to see where your journey takes you! Congratulations once again!

A new MUST for me
Bridal first looks with their mother JUST as they are getting ready to button their gown. 😍😍😍

Your mom being the first person to see you in your dress is probably something she’s been looking forward to your whole life and most of hers. As a mom, I may be slightly biased, but I encourage all of my couples to consider working a first look with one if not both of their parents into the timeline we create together. The moment you see each other and the look of unconditional love and pride is absolutely priceless, and capturing the raw emotions of that moment is something I know you’ll both cherish forever. 🤍

Most of this journey has been a leap of faith, and it has continued to pay off in more ways than one.
Throughout this process I’ve also learned that everyone has something to offer and teach me. This week, I learned just how important a brand identity is, and how it’s even more important that it is clearly defined.
I have a hard time giving up control of a lot of things, but especially giving up creative control when it comes to redesigning what I would consider my baby, aka this business. My logo was something I drew on my iPad when my first bride insisted I make an instagram account so she could tag me in her wedding photos. At that point in time I said “I’m not ready to launch yet” and she laughed and basically said “I don’t care”.
From then on, my “launch date” continued to get pushed back simply because I just became too busy and my business took off almost immediately following my first instagram post.
So once things started to slow down and I started to get a firm grasp on things, I revisited this whole “branding” concept and that’s where Vanessa came in.
I initially told her “I’m attached to my logo, I don’t really know that I’m looking to reinvent the wheel, but I trust you and am interested to see what you come up with”
Because initially, I didn’t want to do a brand refresh. I didn’t think I needed it that bad, but I knew I also didn’t have the time to do it myself and I needed to delegate.
Instantly I was humbled.
She created what I was trying so hard to achieve for about a year, in less than 3 days. It breathed life back into me and my confidence in what I’m doing that I didn’t know had wavered. And no matter how many revisions I made or how many questions I asked, she never once made me feel like a bother and I really felt this was a collaborative effort.
And I am left with branding and a website that I finally feel speaks to what I am capable of, and the experience I am looking to bring my future clients.
All this to say, Vanessa’s work speaks for itself, and I’m glad I took the leap of faith and got out of my own way so that she could create what is now the look of TayCheney Events.
