Voctave is coming back to Las Vegas! Formed in 2015 by producer and arranger Jamey Ray, the voices that bring A ca****la sensation Voctave’s arrangements to life represent a wealth of diverse backgrounds and musical experiences. Hailing from Central Florida, the eleven members of Voctave have performed across the globe and appear on countless recordings. The group has performed with GRAMMY, Dove and American Music Award recipients including Sandi Patty, Pentatonix's Kirstin Maldonado, Mark Lowry, David Phelps, and Jody McBrayer. Professor Emeritus Virko Baley is the winner of Ernst Bacon Memorial Award for the Performance of American Music, 2024, in the professional division, for "Music for Emily Dickinson". Baley was selected from applications reviewed throughout the United States.

Graduate student Kaylee Barnett and Prof. Steffen Lehmann were recently invited to give presentations to the Clark County School District (CCSD) on the question of the “climate-responsive school building and classroom of the future that is appropriate to the desert climate.”

Celebrate the Year of the Snake at the 2025 UNLV Lunar New Year Concert!

This marks the third annual Lunar New Year Concert at UNLV, directed by Tianxi Wen, a doctoral candidate in orchestral conducting, and features the UNLV World Music Chamber Ensemble in collaboration with talented community artists. SKY ISLAND is an exhibition of new and reimagined work by artist Mark Brandvik, the first solo exhibition at his undergraduate alma mater since graduating from UNLV with a BFA in 1996. Multi-and mixed-media sketches and documentations explore scale shifts and mash-ups that conjure magical environments, mesmerizing scenarios, and collective memories.

I am delighted to welcome you to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) College of Fine Arts page! Our college offers an exceptional opportunity for students to discover their authenticity as burgeoning artists.
From my perspective, there has never been a more exciting time for artists – with many fascinating new careers opening up in our rapidly changing world. At UNLV, in the College of Fine Arts, students are exposed to the newest thinking and most important skills in the arts. We teach our students to actually invent their own careers and artistic lives -- with strong mentorship from our outstanding faculty. The integration of research and practice in one’s discipline, the ability to navigate within broad and interdisciplinary frameworks, the mastery of excellent communication skills and the encouragement of deep curiosity about life mark the distinguishing characteristics of the vital and progressive UNLV arts education.
The artistic skills that students learn in their chosen disciplines are transferrable to numerous other career paths outside of the arts, as well. Students will learn to think creatively and with originality. These are prized attributes in our most successful 21st century entrepreneurs – and artists have been in the forefront of many important advances in society.
Located in one of the major entertainment and cultural centers in the world, the College of Fine Arts at UNLV has a strong faculty of distinguished practicing artists and research scholars who deliver to students a stellar education within an array of artistic disciplines, including Architecture, Visual Arts, Dance, Film, Music, Theater, and Entertainment Engineering and Design.
Whichever pathway students choose in the college, they will take pride in knowing that they are part of a notable College of Fine Arts community that cares deeply about its students and works hard to make sure that every single student succeeds. Graduates of our college will join an alumni group of more than 6,000 individuals. These alumni have achieved great success – many as leaders in their fields -- winning major prizes, becoming celebrated recording artists, visual artists, architects, filmmakers, dancers and scholars, appearing on television, Broadway and concert halls around the world and rising to become major figures in many aspects of the entertainment industry, one of the fastest-growing global enterprises.
