SouthSide DJ Media - an organization of style and talent, is the mastermind of owner/artist DJ/VJ carey_c..SouthSide Media was created by carey_c to open outlets for his performance talent, while providing production, promotion, and visualisations for his associates: DJs, promoters, and nightclubs in the Las Vegas and So. As a classicly trained percussionist, carey_c has had many years of diverse
performance experiences. He started performing nightclub gigs way back in 1996, playing live drums with 'The Funkler' aka Mike Fuller and Robert Oleysyck, at the legendary Club UTOPIA in Las Vegas. Around that same time, carey_c developed his interests and talent for marketing and promotions, plying his trade for record labels like TVT/Wax Trax (NYC) and the dance culture sites Vegasafter10.com and Eventvibe.com. In and around the year 2001, while at a VegasAfter10.com party, carey_c caught the DJ bug. Mixing mp3s, burning CDs, and starting his wide-ranging DJ vinyl collection. And then there was practice,
hours of practice...learning the skills of a proper mix. carey_c then, by chance, discovered some VJ software, and instantly was hooked on mixing visuals and music. He quickly joined and studied the VJ artist communities. Then, with some consultation with long-time friend and video wizard Doug Jablin, carey_c was off to the races creating custom visuals for his DJ/Promoter friends. Currently, carey_c and SouthSide Media are working on DJ/VJ performance productions, DVD projects, mobile/social media production, and night club media development.
