Holiday business hours

Christmas is our favorite and one of the busiest times of year for flowers. This year, however, we will not be open for the holiday business.

Thank you for continually supporting our small business and love you send out way!

Local (Vegas) grown chocolate cosmos are always perky and strong. They do not ship well.

It is finally time to cut back the tuberose and stop watering them. They will go dormant and sleep until April.

Cut the leaves at the base and lay them on top of the bed as mulch to protect the bulbs through the winter.

Through the winter I will water 1x a month just so the soil doesn't dry out completely. Then watering will begin again around April, depending on the weather. Once it hits about 70° I remove leaves, add a layer of compost and start watering again.

Do what you can with what you have. In our case, we have flowers.

The season on uncertainty is distant for all of us individually. Occasionally, we find ourselves together in a national, global, or universal time of uncertainty.

In all of these scenarios, the best we can do for ourselves and our community is to breathe and give our do what we can to shine light.

Which is your favorite flower?

All 5 flowers in this arrangement are on my favorites list, but right now, the bearded iris is holding my attention.

They are blooming and reblooming in 100+° with minimal water, since April. 👏

Vegas Summer 🔥

In the Vegas Summer, we try to use warm season/ climate flowers. Flowers that do not require the cooler or a lot of time for rehydration, and can withstand the heat for transport and for the intended purpose.

Orchids and tropicals are always reliable in the summer. Healthy gerberas hydrate very quickly. We love dahlias, but they do need to hydrate at least overnight.

Plants can loose color if they sun "tan"

You can hardly tell these are genetically pink tuberose.

They are currently growing in full Vegas sun, which is very hot from 7 am to 8 pm.

They are very fragrant as their white counterparts. Tuberose are most fragrant in the late afternoon and evenings. These 2 stems fragrant my entire living room.

The clusters of florets are more dense on the pink variety.

Next year, I will replant a test group in a shadier area and adjust to soil to see if the pink will show more.

The uncertainty of introducing new flowers to our climate is the reason we did not sell the pink and yellow tuberose bulbs this year.
