It’s all still surreal a few days removed from playing on New Years Eve for the most bad-ass wedding (and wrestling) couple, ever.
Man, I used to be a kid that would practice wrestling moves on his cousins and fight over the remote to tune in every Monday night to catch all the shows. And to be able to spin at The Tropicana again, a place where I spent my first 2 years as a Vegas transplant as their front desk concierge.. it’s just wild how things come full circle!
For Matt & Chelsea’s grand entrance, I just knew I was in a room filled with guests who also knew their way around a 🎤 . So I had to bring it when it was time to bring them out to surprise their guests with a CO2 entrance. This is how we did it!!!
A big thank you to SJ & Emily (The Vegas Planners) for letting me “live” a bit of my childhood, and trusting I won’t be a fanboy for the entire wedding 😅
And to Matt and Chelsea, you both were just epic the entire evening. Thank you forever and a million for the opportunity, and I hope it’s another amazing chapter to the endless memories you’ll continue to have together (steel chairs and all)

To be interactive is to not just put yourself in the moment. It’s seizing an opportunity to organize - in order to create a bit of chaos.
I was trained to emcee & crowd motivate before I actually knew how to blend two songs together. Not your most conventional way of getting in the wedding DJ business, but it worked for me since it gave me an outlet to treat many of my events as an opportunity to showcase my first loves, dancing & performing.

From a proposed epic wedding in Las Vegas - that was replaced by a Zoom wedding ceremony... To having to fully cancel their rescheduled date (because this pandemic truly sucks) and move their wedding to Tennessee...These two truly defined and overcame all the heartaches of being a B&G in a pandemic.
I remember video calling this couple in 2019 in talks of spinning for them, and with all the time that has passed, I feel forever linked to these two as well. I told them for their 5 year anny, they have no excuse but come back to LV and we do this as originally intended 🙃
So glad we finally effin did it live and in color. 🍾 showers & a little fireworks to you both, Kate & James!

In a world of “brands” and developing an Instagram storefront, we all find our little niche in how we post & market. And if it works, run a marathon with it. (Do you boo-boo)
For myself, I can’t really quantify what I do with tag lines of “Most....Best.... Award-Winning...etc.” (I also don’t care) I think I would sell the experience, the show, or whatever, short with words, and not something genuine they can see, hear, and FEEL.
It’s something I’ve told my clients: “You really won’t know, until you know.” And some graciously offer me the opportunity, and some walk away. Someday, I’ll be able to bottle it all up and sell it like hot cakes. Until then, investing in video equipment so I can get these little short clips will keep me in business...
...For just a little while longer. 😅
In between formalities & extraness, there’s something I enjoy just as much, the groove.
It’s the point in my set where it’s just as important to let them do their thing, while I’m doing my thanggg.

One of the best advices I ever got when I got started was from a photographer. I looked at his still shots and said “Dude, I need to get your camera!!” and he immediately went “Oh man, it’s the Indian, not the bow & arrow.”
And since then, I’ve long contended I’ll never let the “gear make me”. Oh don’t get it twisted, it’s absolutely nice to have fun toys to play with, but if you don’t give it heart & purpose, it all goes for nothing.
So with that said, indoor cold sparklers are the new fad at special events.
But I’ll be damned if I can’t find a better way to set off the fireworks for an epic couple. Light it up, yo. 🙃
