Hi Everyone!

It’s been a while since I introduced myself.
I am Isabella the owner of Isabella King Events. This will be my 4th year of IKE and I absolutely LOVE what I do.

I love that I can get on the dance floor and hand out cookies.
I love that I can jump in and sew your pants when they accidentally rip from bending down for some pictures with your pup. (Multiple times)

A little bit about me -
I have been married for over 3 years and have a 1.5 year old daughter. My husband and daughter are the highlight of my life.
My family is my everything. My mom and sisters are also so very important to me🤍
I have the cutest pup ever. Yes, I will show you pictures if you ask.

A little bit about IKE-
We are rapidly growing! Starting next year, most weddings will have an assistant. Or you’ll have my team on site for your big day! This change is to make sure you have even more support on your big day. This gives us extra coverage with your bridal party and allows for a more intricate setup.

Let’s chat about post wedding blues.

It’s such real thing and some tips on how you can get past it.

When it comes to planning a wedding, you are often planning for a year or maybe even more. When the planning is done and the day passes it’s totally valid to be a bit sad and feel a void.

It’s time back that you mentally don’t have to spend thinking about how you can make this day perfect. But I want to let you know, the day doesn’t have to be perfect, it just has to be a day that you spend marrying your person.

My problem with social media is it only shows the big moments. You think everyone is having this big lavish wedding. You play the comparison game. You start thinking how can I do this bigger and better than so and so.

As a planner, I can tell you my couples that are the happiest are the ones you let go of worrying about all the big details and embrace in the sweet moments of intimacy just like my couple Bri and Allison.

Having an intimate wedding allows you to be more present. You can spend time with your partner.

Another thing they did that I LOVED was they hired a content creator. They got to relive moments from their wedding 24 hours after. They got to see moments they may have missed out on because they had someone there to capture them. 10/10 recommend .meg

The day truly does go by in a blink and to be honest, you don’t have time to be worrying about the small details, but what you can do is invest in getting that time back to your partner.

Do less DIY and go on a date with your partner where you can talk about what excites you for the big day. Go out to dinner the day after and talk about your favorite parts of the day.

Do a delayed honeymoon to keep the celebrating going a month later rather than the day after the wedding. Lastly, remember that the wedding is about the marriage and it’s not a show. Because after the wedding has passed all that you have left is the memories and each other. And that… Is truly something worth celebrating.

Hi friends! It’s been a while since I talked about my vision for Isabella King Events and what makes me the best fit for your day.
✨ I want couples who are absolutely head over heels for each other. The ones that even if every plan had to change that day, they would just be happy to be married.

I was given advice early on when planning my own wedding and was told, “No one will care about your wedding as much as you.” As hard as it was to hear, it’s so true. Your friends and family are so excited for you, but it’s you and your partner’s day and not theirs. But… that’s where I come in. I truly do care about your day as much as you do because I know how much time, energy, money, and love you have poured into this day.

I want to be the person to care about your big day as much as YOU!

That’s a wrap on my 2024 busy season✨

Thank you so much to all my incredible couples who allowed me to spend one of the most important days with them.

This year was so special. I laughed.. and cried.. the most I ever have with my couples. It was such a beautiful season. It was filled with so much love and joy.

I also want to give a huge shoutout to the vendors this year. I LOVED getting to work with so many new people and now have incredible connections with these talented people.

When I refer a vendor, it’s because I spend the day/s getting to know them and seeing how they will fit in your day. I don’t take vendor referrals lightly. Just know, I will only pick vendors that I believe will truly create the best energy and product for your special events.

To summarize, thank you everyone for supporting my small business and allowing me to do something I love🤍

With that said, I have worked almost every day for the past 4 months and need a little break. I’ll be off social media (as much as I can be) for the next week or two. Just need a week to give my mind a break from events and give Gianna the best last few days of this warm weather.

Yesterday I celebrated 3 years of being married to my best friend. With that, I wanted to reflect on our wedding and things I loved vs things I would have done differently.

Things I loved:
- We had 110 guest. It was the perfect amount to be able to mingle and still get time together.
- Matt and I hung out in the morning and he helped with setup. It was so nice to see each other and helped get rid of some of the anxiety I had throughout the day.
- I let go of control and knew that whatever happened was going to be okay. I feel like this tip is the most important.
- We only invited people we had talked to within 6 months of the wedding festivities. It helped us cut out guest list and it showed everyone who was there they truly meant something to us.
- We didn’t go overboard on things that were trendy so it helped us keep cost down. I wanted the wedding to feel custom to us and not like I took it all from Pinterest.
- Buy the Amazon veil. You don’t wear it long and no one is judging you.

Now things I would change:
- I 10000% regret not doing a first look. It would have given us even more time together and honestly that moment didn’t make or break the day for me.
- GET A FLORIST. We did ours ourselves and it takes so much time and we didn’t save that much money. It would have completely elevated our tables if they were done properly by a florist. But, our flowers still looked good and I’m glad we did have florals on the tables. We did have a florist do bouquets and bouts.
- Hire two photographers. We had so many special moments missed because one person can’t be two places at once. Make sure they capture your guest vs just capturing photos of you.
- Our photos are pretty, but now I’m a little more in to bright photos so I would have gone a little more bright and airy! (This is completely a person preference change.)
- HIRE A COORDINATOR. There was little things that came up throughout the day that I couldn’t handle because I was out doing photos. A coordinator would have taken care of them without me even knowing.

Even with little things that came up, we still had the most incredible day and I married my best friend.

Being an event planner, I get to work with all types of clients, but it’s extra special when I get to work with someone who has a background in weddings and events.

Elyse is a talented event planner who trusted me with her special day. Working with such a talented planner, I knew the day was going to be nothing short of exceptional. And it wasn’t anything but exceptional 🤍

Elyse incorporated so many special touches throughout the day. She made sure her wedding was truly custom to her and Paul.

Elyse had custom favors, napkins, signage, a HUGE neon sign that was displayed in the back of her dancefloor (photos to come) and so much more. No detail was left undone and it showed.

Alissa and Greg’s wedding day was a garden dream.

I also want to take a moment to brag about all the vendors from their big day. Alissa and Greg had dreams of having their wedding in the gardens. The weather had other plans. But… luckily we were able to push through the rain and have it clear up just enough time to have a ceremony outside. The whole vendor team was so flexible and willing to do whatever it took to make the couple happy. They were ready to jump into action in whatever way they could to help me as well. Love this day, couple and team!

Can we have a moment for how sweet this couple is??
Looking back at these photos it feels like I’m in the room with them and can sense the love they have for one another all over again.

Hannah and Brian’s wedding was hosted at . It was truly the most perfect spot for their big day. The warm nooks and crannies this space is filled with is unmatched. The owners care about their venue and make sure no details are left untouched. The room is even filled with volcano candles (one of my personal favorites!)

✨ Dave & Mary ✨

Dave and Mary hosted their huge 300 person wedding at the beautiful .

If you know me, Eastern Market is one of my favorite weekend activities. I absolutely love Detroit and the energy it brings. This was something I had in common with my couple. They love to support small businesses and party! (Dave is a successful business owner if you’re looking for landscaping )

One thing to know about Eastern Market is it’s a blank canvas. You are in charge of brining in all your vendors (tables, chairs, linens, food, drink). As this was early in my day of coordinating career, I was nervous, but down for the challenge.

This day was a grind. I had my incredible assistant on site and we got to work. All day we had vendors coming in and out and we were double checking to make sure everything was perfect for when guest and the couple arrived.

Mary originally wanted to come help with setup and I told her absolutely not! My goal is for you to enjoy your day and be stress free.

Since this is such a DIY venue and they were brining in so many of their own item, David and Mary did have additional help on site for setup. To be honest, it would have taken a team of 10 coordinators to do setup for this large wedding with as much stuff that was being brought in by the couple.

Although it was one of the hardest setups, I absolutely loved the look on their faces when they came in to their big day and everything was how they dreamed.

Cara made the most stunning bride and was glowing all day.

The couple hosted their wedding at . The most perfect space to show off the pink and cream hues of their boho wedding.

✨Lauren and Angelo✨

When Lauren told me she was having her wedding in a barn on family property, little did I know it would be one of my most glam weddings of the season.
